Hey,
This is my first toon and my first 70 so I am a little unsure about final spec and all considering I do not know what to expect in raids. I do know that my gear really sucks (would be more than happy to recieve advice on that as well).
It is quite disheartening to spend so much time leveling a toon to 70 only to realize that you are a joke at DPS and as a tank I have been told that I would never be able to tank Gruul. Lets face it, PvP and Raids are what the end game is about and I am having a very difficult time in thinking that as a tank I will have to respec after doing one or the other just to be decent in the other one.

Any and all "constructive" critisism is more than welcome in this critique, just take it easy on me lol this is my first 70 lol.

you've been lied to
ret paladins are proving everyday to be a valuable asset to a raid
prot paladins are better than warriors at the end phase of gruul, if you have the stamina
divine str. and int you don't need, the threat generation from str. can be ignored for tanking paladins
imp. dev. aura reduces damage taken by ~1% with 5 points, hardly worth it, the points are better spent in deflection in the ret tree (1% parry = 1% damage reduction over the long run)
you should be using ret. aura for threat generation anyways
precision is really important for generating threat and regaining aggro when you lose it
read my guide in the paladin forum and decide where you are with tanking atm.
here's a build suggestion for you:

I really do appreciate the advice on this and I like the build you have linked and will be respec'ing to that once I get my gold back up from training level 70/flying mount training. I have always wondered why I constantly see level 70 tankadins running around with 1 handers that have a 41.something dps, isn't there a means of getting the +spell damage and bonuses on a higher DPS weapon?
Either way I cannot express exactly how much I appreciate this advice as well as the reference to your guide, tremendous help to someone who is just starting out. :D

Paladins can tank raids JUST fine. Slap whoever is telling you this. Just give them a nice caps-locked /slap.
Anyway, here's my advice.
You do not need Divine Strength and Intelligence. Strength isn't what Paladins get aggro from. You may not even need Reckoning, Devotion Aura, One-Hand Weapon Spec. Remove those points and put them into Spell Warding(4% isn't much, but it's something), Benediction, Deflection, and Improved Judgement.
Aside from that, you're fine.
As for Precision..I suppose. I honestly don't see how big of a difference it makes since I rarely miss, but eh.You could always aim for Imp. Ret. Aura.

hi juz my 2 cents worth ... i juz think that the main problem i have been facing was to get to uncrushable which simply means getting 102.4% avoidance...
i have a link to an uncrushability guide that i've found on the web in my guide as well ;)
it's all pre-kara gear too!

i have always been holy , but i want to try tankin i came up with this.....can anyone tell me if im missin anything or if im way off
it's actually not bad
the only things i would suggest is getting a point in BoK, removing points from vindication to pursuit of justice or into the prot tree, moving the points from imp. ret aura into one handed spec.
