So how long are the invasion points going to be around for? I heard last time they stopped at 150 battles won.

Can everyone please relax? You have to go through a few days of having your WoW world upset a little and you're screaming like it's the end of the world. Like now you'll never be able to level again. The whole idea of this plague is to simulate the anarchy and chaos of a Scourge invasion. Spend a few days enjoying it, and enjoying the concept of the "WoW world" acting together against a common threat. Once it's over you'll be able to get back to the "joys" of grinding and farming.
And imho this is greatness... I am a George A. Romero fanatic though.
"Behold a pale horse... And he who sat upon him was death, and hell followed with him..."

Yep, it's not too different than the opposite faction raiding towns and killing NPCs (yet we can kill our own NPCs now).
Yet there always paladins, shamans, and priests dispelling the disease on NPCs and runing the fun :)
Thankfully most quest NPCs have a fairly short respawn time, so they'll usually be back soon.
Of course, it's ruining "your" fun and not ruining everyone else who's trying to level. Right? 9_9 Never mind the fact that even if quest NPCs are on a short timer, some griefer is almost always still hanging around to either kill -you- or kill the NPCs again.

No matter how annoying it is to some, it's nice to see Blizz grew a set for a kickass event like this...

I can't play this one, so all I want to know is when it will be done (the PvP zombie part, anyway) so I can go back to playing. I actually don't mind the scourge invasion, I just don't have any interest in even the possibility of PvP. So any clues as to when it's over would be just peachy. (And yes, I know: "Just log out if you don't like it." I did. I'm logged out. And I'm just wondering when I should log back in...)

When a gaming company implements something that disrupts and griefs large amounts of players and then places the blame on those players rather than their implementation then there is something wrong there. The hundreds of players that are complaining about the implementation of this event are paying customers. They are giving Blizzard their money to enjoy the gaming experience. From hard core raiders to brand new players. They are all saying the same thing "We don't like how you're doing this and we're not having fun" People who have played for years. People who have spent a lot of money to play this game. Many of these people who are complaining aren't kids, they are college students and parents who otherwise play this game without saying a word of criticism.
When you have that many people complaining and your only response is "Just deal with it". To people who are giving them their hard earned money, there is something wrong.
They are trying to create a certain type of gaming experience and atmosphere, but at the cost of a playing experience and atmosphere that originally drew us here. Their response contradicts the attitude of Blizzard that we had previously respected and has kept our faithful business. There are many other ways and mechanics they could have implemented and still provided a similar effect without introducing Blizzard-sponsored unfettered griefing. These alternatives may or may not be as exciting or stimulating to some as this one has been, however it could have in large part avoided any form of alienation of some of its player base and avoided loss of subscribers.
When a gaming company introduces an event to improve the gaming experience and in return starts losing long time subscribers there is something wrong here. I have yet to see one post or one player who started their trial or recently started with a lower level character that has said "I am really loving this event. I'm going to continue to pay and play this game". Every comment I've seen from a new player has been that of pure frustration and grief.
"Only the strong survive" attitude towards me is insulting. Especially when directed at someone who has excelled in nearly every area of the game with little or no help. I've leveled 5 level 70s. Four of them solo with no help from a guild or from friends. Spending most of the time playing solo with nobody to even talk to. Having well over 21,000 pvp kills between my three alliance characters in nearly full merciless gear on a battlegroup where you lose 99% of your battlegrounds (my point being I've done a lot of "just dealing with it"). Two characters geared for SSC without ever stepping foot in a raid. Granted, there are players who are far more accomplished than me. But I am by far, no "noob".
I'm not going to adapt and accept something just because I'm told to. I honestly don't want to. I'm not going to dutifully accept Blizzard's changes and ideas just because they or you or anyone else has told me to. If I don't like it. I don't like. That's my right. And some respect and common courtesy in return would be appreciative.
I don't have to like your point of view. I don't have to like your explanations. But I have tried, best as I can, to respect it, despite a near and total disrespect for my fully legitimate and justified complaint.
In closing, it is easy to dismiss us as whiners. But this is a game, and when the game is changed in a way where I'm forced to play in a manner that I don't want to play. Even for a short period of time. I am not bound to accept it or dismiss the my frustration and continue to pay Blizzard like some dutiful servant.
You forgot one thing when talking about them changing the game.
This is a very important thing to remember.
Read.
Understand.
Here it goes.
One. Time. Event.
Limited. Length.
Will. End. Within. Three. Weeks.
Apart from that, it's a good event because players
get involved.
It takes 2 minutes til zombie now. Zombies will now mostly be in major cities. Org on my server was a massacre ground. Very cool. Very Warcraft. Very good step Blizzard.
Griefing? Maybe, but I don't believe so. I got two friends together, and we held Freewind post for an hour. Refuge point became the scene of another battleground. Alliance and Horde players joined us, while others complained. It's fun. I had fun later purging the Scourge. (FYI I don't like people complaining about being cleansed. Do what my friends and I did, find somewhere private, kill some guards, BAM, zombie horde).
Do you want to know something?
You can level later. You get that piece of gear later. You can earn that achievement later.
People joining the game now think this is what the game is. I'd rather they
didn't
play and quit, cause that would mean we would have even more players with sub-par intelligence. Yes, this the game now. Zombies are now a new race. From now on it's World of Zombiecraft people! Deal with it!
Also, it
really
isn't hard to outrun a zombie. Seriously. I saw a rogue crying about getting attacked. Err, what? Sprint? Stealth?
I made an account to say this. Take a break people. Eat some brains, or break some putrid skulls. Avoid zombies, and go fish. If you have to, log out. There are your choices.

I personally hate this event, not because of the zombies but the griefers who enjoy making things miserable for others and giggle constantly while doing so.
So even though I hate this retarded "World Event" I used my main to clear Crossroads all...day...long.I got a little thanks from the lowbies desperately questing to level. And when I got verbal harassment and or threats by the griefers I reported them.
You wanna be a zombie?Fine go elsewhere and leave the questers alone on PvE realms unless they
want
to be zombies.
You want world PvP?Roll on a PvP realm and leave the PvE realm to us.
You want to grief lowbies and make questing impossible for them while you giggle?Say hello to my leetle friend!

So Blizzard implemented this event so that we could attack NPC mobs in the middle of Arathi Highlands?
Phase 1 = 10 minutes til zombie
This means players can go out and attack small enclaves of Alliance/Horde towns. This represents the beginning of a zombie attack.
Current Phase = 2 minutes til zombie.
It's a lot harder to get to lowbie zones (persistent griefers probably can). Blizzard is concentrating the plague so that large cities - the only places one get infected - become the centre of battles. Guards get turned very quickly. It's a lot easier now the attack Org or SW.
I've said it before.
Genius, blizzard, absolute genius.
PS.Yes, maybe they could have put in a tag that made it optional. But then, where would the chaos be that would be prevalent and constant if a zombie invasion occurred? Where would random outburts of panic be? I went to Thrallmar, and those guards near the FM. Half were zombies, half fighting them. I paniced. I went "damn, this thing is life like" ( I can only imagine :D)
The Scourge are attacking. The dead are coming back to life.
I pray that if it really happened, people wouldn't whinge and whine to the government.
Get some boomstick.

When in zombie form, casting Mangle will reduce the infection time by about 10 sec per hit, this means that you don't have to kill the guards for them to become zombies, the lvl 75 guards in cities for example, get enough people on them and you can get lvl 70 zombies fast enough.
This is true, but dont forget other players. Infect as many as you can with a single hit - they can't cleanse them all!
