Where did you hear this? Is there a reliable source?
I would say it's highly unlikely. Not only would it make them extremely OP, but it also wouldn't make sense. Rogues are meant to be assassins, masters of stealth who can move extremely swiftly and quietly. Wearing a full set of plate armor would probably limit mobility, yeah?

Things like armor types are pretty much set in the game. Changes like those would have been done a long time ago, the game isn't new & they're not going to be changing anything like that any time soon.

I have heard that they might change things like this with heroic class's.
ie: Hunters with no pet, wears only leather but can stealth like rogues with increased range AP/Crit.
Though all of these are just "estimated guess's" more than anything, based on what a heroic class might actually be like.
Reguardless of how they do it, you can be sure it will be balanced with the other class's, just different. Not like all the bonus' of a current rogue with just plate, cause that obviously wouldnt be fair.

I'm hearing rumors that Rogues will soon wear plate armors? Wouldn't that take warrior out of its role?

I also heard rumors of priests wearing plates now. Oops, I think they are called paladins - my bad.
When the day the have rogues wear plate, might as well get rid of the rogue class and just merge it with the warrior class, calling it the Mercenary/Assassin class.
