Hello, so i am complely new player coming to WoW and i have some questions:
1.So first of all, should i buy Shadowlands right now? I heard brand new players have to complete Bfa questline till level 50 so is that true?
2.If i wont buy Shadowlands right now my level cap would be 120 or 50?
3.How should i be gearing up my character? Like should i be doing quests and i will get gear from that or dungeons?

Hello, and welcome to Azeroth!
1. Shadowlands is the current expansion, and if you are really enjoying the game, it is definitely worth your while to buy it.
That being said, It is true that as a new player you will be forced to quest through BFA content before you can play through other expansions or take your character into the Shadowlands. But it is important to note that Shadowlands will provide you with a character boost, which you can use to boost any character up to level 50 and start right into the Shadowlands content. If you're new, I would recommend leveling a character, instead of boosting, so that you can get a better understanding of the game and its systems.
2. Shadowlands has brought about a level squish. The new level cap is now 60. If you haven't bought Shadowlands, your level cap will be 50.
3. While leveling, your gear is not terribly important, just equip whatever looks like an upgrade (generally higher item level or more stats). You can do dungeons, which will require you to group up with other players and will be more challenging than questing but also reward better gear. Whether you choose to level through questing, dungeons, or a combination of the both, is largely a personal preference.
