Hey could I get a little help on how to macro rune strike to ur other spells ?
I have no clue even how to pull up the macro thing in game, i know i've seen it before but I can't remember where,
also, you macro this to all ur abilitys right ? Ie, if I macro it with IT, do I need to hit the IT button twice or will hitting it once cast both ?
Thanks!

/macro
select new
use the question mark
/cast Icy Touch(or other ability as needed)
/cast !Runestrike
make sure to include the ! or you'll toggle it off if you hit this macro twice.

I've heard to macro it in to almost all ur spells just to make sure its being used as often as possible = more threat .. ? Thats just what i figured,

I have Rune Strike on a macro for: IT, BS, PS, Oblit, BB, Pestilence.
Rune strike, in my rather noobish gear ((ilvl 200 mostly, just acquired 2nd ilvl226 badge gear)), accounts for ~10% of my overall damage in a run. That is a ton of passive threat. Passive because I get to slap it in a macro and forget about it. :)
You do not want to macro Rune Strike into your abilities that also cost RP, as you will generally starve yourself of RP at that point.
Additionally, when your runes are on cooldown and you're looking to RP dump, I would avoid doing so with 40 or less runic power.

basically everything you'll use with relative regularity in melee is safe to macro it to
blood/heart strike, scourge strike, obliterate, death strike, icy touch, plague strike, pestilence, blood boil...
the macro is as simple as
/cast ________
/cast rune strike
can just type /cast "space after /cast" without quotes and shift+right click the spell from your spellbook into the macro

I just hit 4 everytime Runestrike lights up. Swinging a 3.50sec weapon makes it hard to miss a runestrike proc. Never had agro probelms or RP capping issues.

Still macro is way more effective as you dont need to watch for it proc, push anything else than normal rotation or have 4 taken by something which can be usable in different way.
I am not saying its wrong, if it works for you, its ok - but for me its like clicking or keyboard turning - if you can improve something, why not?

WASD or mouse turn I use both. I am looking at my screen at all times, so noticing #4 highlighted isnt hard. And lately, I have been dodging/parrying so much I just hit 4 everyother keystroke out of habit. LOL.

I see this comment bandied around quite a lot, but don't really understand the sense behind it. As you say, it's an ill move to dump RP when you are only carrying barely enough for a DC, so you shouldn't be doing it at a point where you will be starved of RP anyway.
It boils down to threat generation. I dont have a link to any numbers crunched, but last time I looked into it, Rune Strike was more threat per RP used than, say, frost strike... so that is why you want to hang on to some RP.
Now, sometimes you can bleed your RP dry because you know in the next couple seconds you're going to easily replace it....

Rune strike cannot be toggled off, making the "!" unnecessary.
When I made my DK macros (maybe six months ago), hitting RS twice would turn off RS. Even if it was fixed, is doesn't hurt to leave the ! in the macros.

i shall always keyboard turn as a tank cuz i don't like having things hitting my backside, if you want your heals to cry as they even attempt that much healing then go ahead. For PvP yeah it can be very usefull but that would be for a different thread.
As for hitting the backside, quick facts about mouse turning.
Keyboard turning is way slower and less accurate than mouse turning.
You can (should) replace turn keys on your keyboard (A and D) with strafes (like in fps games). This way you can move without mouse, without switching camera shots and what is most important while strafing you are moving with the speed of normal walk while not turning your back (defenses work from the side).
Strafing > Backpedaling
Mouse turning > Keyboard turning
Adapt or perish.
