this
*edited for right link*
ok ticking off your points
Brutal Impact
I loved for tanking heroics... was nice to have that halved cd on stunning... but in a hybrid build the points are not there for it... so i would pass on it.
Survival Instincts
pop that with
frenzied regen
and your regen ticks VERY high and is a nice health buffer for those Oh Sh__ moments, so i would take it in any build doing some tanking.
King of the Jungle
you NEED to do dps, it is our way of keeping our energy regen higher for our complicated rotation.
Natural
/
Master
Shapeshifter:
Natural is a waste of points outside of a PvP build in my opinion... and Master is good but too pricey in a hybrid build as you have to get natural to get to it.... in pure builds points can be spared... not Hybrid.
Natural Reaction
6% dodge and 3 rage every dodge is GODLY... it is a MUST in any tank build that wants to live. (side note when specced into
SotF
you need NO DEFENSE.... just armor stam dodge and agi for stats really.
Improved Mangle
IMO
this talent is a waste... a few extra Mangles will not totally do much for tanking and unless you cannot get behind the boss Shred > Mangle in terms of DpE (Damage per Energy) so you only are using mangle for the Debuff then using shred otherwise.
Now for a few points of my own:
Omen of Clarity
If you want to do good dps this is a MUST... it = Free energy.
Predatory Instincts
Cat dps when spec'd and geared right are CRIT MACHINES so anything that buffs our crit damage boosts our dps quite a bit so i def want this talent.
Thick Hide
as opposed to
Infected Wounds
Personally as you gear up you will get very close to the armor cap and i haven't needed any points into Thick hide, as SotF adds so much and Infected wounds is great for not only slowing the bosses attacks (about a 10% damage reduction i think someone said) but also slowing down running mobs :)
I have found through long running with this that with proper gear swaps and mixed glyph choices this talent spread can work very effectively as tank and dps

i use basically that exact same spec. only difference is i dropped the points in thick hide in favor of improved mangle. a 1.5 second cooldown reduction is a HUGE increase in threat for bears, and the energy reduction is pretty ok for keeping up the debuff.
since you're a hybrid, you probably wont be main tanking, so the drop in base armor wouldn't hurt too much.
as for natural shapeshifter, it's not worth it in a pvE situation, your base mana pool should be enough to manage 3-5 shifts which is the most you'll need in
most
situations.

Actually the spec you saw was incorrect as i didn't notice i had thick hide... even as MT i dont see it as totally needed... now if i were pure tank spec i would have the points to spare for its small luxury... otherwise i have those three points shifted into Infected Wounds...
I personally have never really had large issues with threat as a druid tank so i dont find Imp Mangle needed for such and as cat i only use it for the debuff... so a waste of 3 pts for me

My own opinions on some of your points:
Brutal Impact shouldn't really matter. As dps, you should be attacking, rather than stunning. As tank, it's probably much better to Feral Charge or Faerie Fire.
I said in heroics lol... sometimes it is nice to be able to interrupt the heals or casted fears in some heroics... outside of heroic tanking and PvP i would not get Brutal Impact... that said I already mentioned i wouldn't have the spare points for it in a Hybrid build.

Im experimenting with this spec and so far its all good.

The points taken out of naturalist are made for with MS at least imo. And i agree NS is not worth it for but u need it to get MS and MS is great for hybrids.
no.... 5/5 Naturalist is a MUST for any build... thats 4% TOTAL damage you are losing.
for hybrid spec NS/MS are TOO $$$ not worth it.

i dissagree... i find my gear level that i am at to be 52-54% crit from gear and raid buffs... 4% crit will not buff me as much as 4% damage.
not to mention the 3 points you had to waste in NS to GET THERE!

*shrug* crit will come with the gear.
you are also a point waster *points at NS*
unless you are power shifting every 4 seconds till you oom your mana for shifting shouldn't be an issue what with Imp LotP and raid buffs/replenishment.

attack power is not = physical damage... ap = modifies your damage...
4% damage boosts all your attacks whether they be regular or crits... or bleeds (i belive they are considered physical...) all your damage... gains 4%
ok see you are thinking of MS as costing two points.... for 4% crit...
look at it like this... you need a total of 5 points for it... so you are getting roughly .8% crit from each talent point... and in NShapeshifter you are getting
2% damage PER POINT. making it better TDpP (total damage per point)
*added*
now were i speccing PURE CAT i would spend points into it like
THIS
but i'm not.

i
think
they do... cause they don't rely on your spell hit... just your melee hit to stick em to the enemy
*adding*
Bleed
From WoWWiki
Bleed is a damage over time debuff that deals physical damage. Most bleeds cannot be dispelled, cleansed, cured or otherwise removed until the debuff expires. In addition, bleed effects cannot be resisted and ignore armor. Warriors, Rogues and Druids all have access to bleed debuffs. There are melee weapons that give a chance to apply bleed effect on target.
