Known Issues From Server Migration (6/21)

Hey folks!

This is just a quick list of known issues from our server migration; we'll be working on them throughout the weekend and next week. While there have been some hiccups in getting Wowhead moved, ultimately it is worth it since it will stop future incidents and problems. It just sucks right now while we're still ironing out the kinks leftover from moving such a massive website to a new home.

We figured a list of what we're fully aware of will be helpful, so we don't have as many dupe topics plus it will shed some awareness on why we're all so quiet--we're fixing things!

Search terms are broken
Initial fix deployed 6/21; more refined solution in progress
Profiler is gone -- this is back up as of 7/15, but since reconfiguring after the migration was very complex, we're fixing some bugs before we officially publicize it on the site as a new feature.
Our blue tracker is showing some, but not all, blue posts
Fixed 6/26
Russian Wowhead having display issues
Fixed 6/22
PTR missing some data
This is caused by database updates breaking Russian Wowhead on 6/21, quests were fixed/updated on 6/24 and items on 6/25.
Images having display issues
This issue appears tied to starting data updates, which is being investigated
Pet battle map having display issues
Fixed 6/25
Issues with users getting registration/password reset emails
Fixed 6/25
General site lag and performance spikes

Search term fix is deployed--searching for To The Rescue! won't automatically take you to Theramore's Fall now, for example.

Russian Wowhead was just fixed. There may be some overall site performance issues as everything settles down from the code deploy.

Our Battle Pet Map is back up again and our Contact Tool is functional again (i.e...needing to get a registration or password reset email from Wowhead).

Any chance of a list of the features?

My own personal wish would be a full custom profile builder with all stats calculated with optional buffs/debuffs (specializations and class modifiers like sub rogue 30% agi bonus included). It was kind of like this before and I hope it will be once again! :D

Profiler will be coming back sometime this week or next week. It is a redesign and retooling, so it will take a while longer yet to make sure it is 100% stable. I would say it would be this week for sure, but we have a 4 day holiday weekend so I do not think it will be pushed even if it's ready in case it broke and took down the site while people had a day off.

It was of course understandable that people would not be working on this over the July 4th Holiday, but I had hoped that it would be up after the holiday, since this post made it sound like it was ready. How are things going on it? I miss my character info.....

The Profiler has been relaunched today. We'll be writing up an official forum post on it shortly, once we can ensure the launch has gone smoothly and there are no major bugs :)(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##perculia##DELIM##

I didn't find how to configure a localization.
Will it be possible to look for an equipment in other languages as before ?

Just updating this to say that while the Profiler is live, there are still some bugs we're working on fixing because reconfiguring it after the migration was a very complex process. We'll get an official post up on the new Profiler and its improvements when the bugs are fixed soon.(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##perculia##DELIM##

The site lag has been noticeable the last hour or so here, way down in Australia.

How's the site performance been looking as of late? I'm currently in Minnesota and I've had sporadic issues with site performance/stability ever since the migration. Searches in particular are abnormally slow - it's much faster to go to Google and pull up my queries that way. Most people don't seem to be experiencing anywhere near the level of difficulties I've been having, though, so I'm wondering if it's a more localized issue.
