I finally got my old druid to level 60 and about to hit outlands.
Is there anyone left to instance with or just say to heck with it and quest?
I sure wish I could get my 80 on at the same time LOL

Let's just say this: if you want to do instances, you'd better learn how to heal 4 DKs.

During the three months after the release of WOLTK, there were at least 50 deathknights in hellfire peni
n
sula at all times, not counting the ones doing the 60s instances. By comparison there were usually only about five 'normal' classes. It was an amazing ganking zone for level 80s with epic mounts and a deathknight grudge.
Oh and it is possible to do hellfire ramps and blood furnace with 5 deathknights, or even just four if one of them turned out to be a good tank. Deathknights have a serious gear/progression advantage until level 80. That being said, any other class was ordered to gtfo unless they could heal.
Now hellfire is quite empty, though you usually can find at least ten deathknights during prime hours.
Outland may have once been an epic world zone, but now it is kind of lackluster and nerfed, just skim through it as fast as possible.

I was afraid of that. When wotlk was released I had 2 chrs in high 60's and 2 70's so I didn't pay much attention till nov when I started my dk. I blew thru outlands and never looked back. My little guy will just get thru it and forget instances.
Have there been many new players starting this summer?
Last summer there were a bunch. Of course you could buy the base game for $9.99 and the battlechest on sale for $23.99

My guild has a ton of various classes in the 40s and 50s (including my warlock). If that's any indication, then Outlands might be picking up again, especially once they release the new patch with all the mount and leveling changes.

Yeah, there really isn't anyone there, I'm just trying to blow through it as fast as possible when I play my druid or dk. I'm grinding rep for a talbuk on the dk, then I'm outta there.
I haven't had any trouble finding groups for instances, but my hunter is in a pretty good raiding guild, and most of the time the groups consist of a tank, healer, and 1 or 2 dps from guildies' alts, with 1 or 2 dps picked up from lfg.

Currently levelling my druid up thru Outland, hopefully setting sail for Northrend tonight :D
Not had any major trouble finding a group so far, and I seem to have run across more paladins than DKs for some reason recently. Had a good mix of players overall tho...maybe the DKs are just levelling by AoE pulling all of Hellfire at once?

Up to this point...Burning Crusades and the Outlands(including isle of Quel Danas) have been abandoned by Blizz. My guild usually run our 58-68 members through the dungeons. They should put an auction house in shats to bring some life back to it. Lowering flying mount requirement to level 60 in the next patch should help. Update the dungeons ..like they did for Naxx. Maybe they can put new unique mount drops in the heroic and/or raid instances.

new unique mount drops in the heroic instances.
^^^This. I've always thought it would be cool if Blizz introduced some more unique mounts.
Although, that would more than likely just bring back a bunch of 80's to farm the mounts. So idk.

Now that I think about it..Shats would be the perfect place to create a guild city. Especially around the platform area encircling the portal's room. Guilds could purchase real estate where they could set up a guild house. Guilds could use this as a hearthstone location..hoist their tabard colors...set up a guild bank vendor..etc.
Sought of like a hang out.

I was in the Outlands leveling my balance druid right after Lich hit and I healed as balance through numerous instances with 4 DKs dropping the dps. Of course they did so much damage and the blood spec'd DKs heal themselves- but it was a wipe free day and I got all the SP gear.
Now I'm leveling my DK in Outlands and I'm surprised by the numbers of other classes looking to do the same instances. I usually with one or two other Death Knights still.

I'm currently leveling with my friend through Outland (low pop server) and there is more than I thought. I've done about 5 instances, and there is always at least one death knight. Other than that, it is pretty "normal" for a low level zone. In the starting zone (Hellfire Peninsula), there is around 5-8 people, and around 20 people spread around the other zones.

Ashes of A'lar and Raven Lord aren't enough for you?
And Nether Drakes?
And Skettis Flyers?
And Kurenai?
There are plenty of OL unique mounts... just go back and farm that rep.

The real problem with Outland is that the entire expansion was designed around "Lvl70 End Game."
Everything's about turn-ins and reputation grinds and small chain quests, which gets old after a while since you know at Lvl67 none of the rewards mean squat anymore and at Lvl68 you'll be on the boat to Northrend.
