What's the correct term for people of African descent?
With all this arguementing about how they're not black, no one's mentioned what their race is called.

African.
I said that several times.
And it would be better if you could get even more detailed (Sudanese, Liberian, Moroccan, etc.).

African

I meant, what's the scientific (or whatever) term. Like how Europeans are caucasians.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say Afro.
Hey, I had an afro for some time and I'm not African!
No really, I did! I should dig up some pictures.

Afro and African are interchangable words.
No, actually Afro refers to African-Americans specifically (i.e. Afro culture).
Afro-, on the other hand, is just the prefix version of African.

May I ask why you're so adamant about labeling people according to their skin color?
Seems that the US were quite happy to do the same-
article
, per the 2000 american census, here it says it listed/ recognised "Black or African american" as a race.
Because they have to account for everyone. If you went to the original instead of quoting wikipedia you would have seen
It includes people who indicate their race as "Black, African Am., or Negro," or provide written entries such as African American, Afro American, Kenyan, Nigerian, or Haitian.
They have to include every term in common usage.

II would suggest laginging isn't sure of/ there is a difference.
Which is why I corrected him. Then you attack me for correcting him. Then you agree that he was wrong.
They really need to start teaching Aristotelian logic in schools -_-

I felt in your earlier post you were in effect calling laginging stupid.
As you stated: labeling someone by their colour (as laginging had done) is stupid.
I took offence at the word "stupid", I felt it was harsh and unnecessary, you might have used "a mistake many make".
I didn't call anyone stupid. I called an action stupid. And yes, lots of people do that stupid action.
It's a stupid mistake many make, and for many more it's intentional.
I stand by my words. Not by your interpretation.

But if someone has inadvertently made that action, aren't you then calling them stupid for having done something stupid?
Certain actions are stupid. I don't call people stupid.
Certain actions are evil. I don't call people evil.
Certain actions are annoying. I don't call people annoying.
I have no right to judge people, only actions.
