Daily quests are definitely the way to go. You can do all of them but the Netherwing ones without an epic flying mount, which includes those found in Skettis and Ogri'la:
Fires Over Skettis
Escape from Skettis
Bomb Them Again!
The Relic's Emanation
Wrangle More Aether Rays!
Banish More Demons!
(Honored)
That's 66g16s per day (including the honored quest) if you finish them all every day, not including any nice
BoE blues
that drop off
Shartuul

I hear this type of thing popping up a lot, I don't know what I did that was so special, but I was able to use the AH to make thousands on my first character. I bought all my mounts the minute I turned the level because I had enough money to do so, and enough money left over afterwards that I didn't miss it.
Now I will say that I have sold a lot of mats, herbs and leathers, but that's no more than anyone else really does. When I hit 70 I bought my normal mount, and I would have been able to buy my epic mount on the spot. I waited a while to decide if I really wanted the epic mount, then bought it.
I now do the netherwing dailies on top of my normal routine and I have 5k gold in the bank. this is also after just purchasing a gryo-balanced khorium destroyer for 1100g and all the bells and whistles that go in it.
It's not about what you do PvE, i.e. daily questing, gathering, etc, it's about how smart you use the time you have, and always, ALWAYS keep in mind the amount of money you need for things. Re-sale is a great thing in the AH as well, if you have bottomscanner it's made that much simpler. but you don't even need that, if you can keep up with the prices of items in the AH and out.

You can earn quite a lot of money by skinning and picking flowers, especially if you kill the big tree men in Skettis. They drop 2 - 5 motes of life everytime you um... herb-skin them. I hate farming, but I still made over 1000 gold in under a week by doing that.
Boring and repetitive, I know, but listen to some music while you farm. I suggest KMFDM

Depending on your server, you can also make some money leveling up cooking and fishing for raid buff food types (not to mention the primal water's that you can fish). Add that to the normal rotation of daily quests and you should have a decent amount of pocket change in no time!

When I first decided to farm for my epic flyer, I had 400g. Everyone told me to farm Primals, so that's what I did. I checked out Elemental Plateau, and it was PACKED! My next stop was Kirin Var Village in Netherstorm, and once again it was full of other farmers, mostly mages and warlocks. So I headed over to Shadowmoon Valley, and found myself a nice little spot to farm. Directly south of the Netherwing Fields and east of the Altar of Shadows, there is a ledge, only accessible via flying mount. Up there you'll find Netherskates and Enraged Air Elementals. The ledge is a very long strip that wraps around all the way to Dragonmaw Fortress, so you'll have plenty to kill, and you'll load up on Primal Mana and Air, which sell for about 20g/25g respectively, on my server.
I did this for about 2 days, until I realized that, as a Fury Warrior, I was having way too much downtime. The elementals were a pushover, but the rays were killer. They have a debuff called Tail Sting, which starts at 9 stacks and goes down one each tick. What it is is basically a DoT, that also slows your movement speed by 10% per stack. So every time I killed one of these, I would still have 6-7 stacks on me, meaning I would have to wait another 20 to 25 seconds before I can bandage/eat. For a ranged DPS class, this may not be a problem, but for me, it was a huge one.
So I headed over to Hellfire Peninsula, and started to mine the crap out of it. I didn't use my flying mount, as it was too slow, so I stayed with my trusty Black War Raptor instead. I ran laps around the entire zone, making sure to pick up every node I can so it registers with Gatherer. Fel Iron is EVERYWHERE here...literally. Within a few hours it seemed like there was more green (from Gathere) on my map then red.
Not only do you get loads of Fel Iron, but you also get Primal Earths and Fires, as well as green and blue raw gems. I sold the Fel Iron Ore for 10g per stack of 20. Not much, right? But in one hour, I can get 12-15 stacks of Fel Iron Ore, 5-6 Primal Earths, 1-3 Primal Fires, an assortment of green gems, and maybe even some blue gems. And if I'm really lucky, I'll find some Khorium, too. Added together, I was making nearly 200 gold per hour.
Ores are much easier to sell than Primals. I often see the supply of Primals run out on the AH. Not the case with ores. Mining feeds THREE whole professions: Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting. There is ALWAYS a demand for ores and there are ALWAYS ores up on the AH, because people are constantly buying and selling to feed their professions.
I did this for a few hours a day for about 2 weeks. It was a long grind, but it was worth it. Good luck on farming!
