Hotkey tips?

I'm a long-time druid (I recently started over, for you Armory stalkers), but a notorious clicker. I have a couple hotkeys configured for quick shifting, but when I'm in caster form, all I've ever done was click or use the main action bar. For someone looking to jump head-first into the arena, this can't be good!
What I need are some recommendations on what to hotkey, where to put them, and any mods to help me out. I recently started using the E,S,D,F keys for movement instead of W,A,S,D, and that gives a lot of room to hit other keys on the left side which I find will help pretty well.
My only problem is that I'd love to use keys like W and R (which are right next to the "move forward" key, so they are basically the prime real estate on my keyboard) for Lifebloom and maybe Rejuv, but I've always used them to shift into bear and cat form. I want to be able to throw out HoTs like a madman, but those are the two easiest keys to shift with! What's a druid to do?
Lastly, if anybody knows of a good mod for this kind of thing (preferably Ace2), I'd be grateful. Right now, I just have a hidden bar set up in Bartender3 with certain abilities on it, and I have those particular slots assigned to various hotkeys. I'm not sure if this is the "correct" way to do things or not, but even though it works well, it still feels pretty primitive to me.
Any advice is much appreciated!

Have you tried
Clique
?
I've a horrible habit of switching to clicking freely depending on how lazy I am, but with Clique you can actually assign spells to combinations of keystrokes and clicks. For instance, in my Clique configuration I have:
Alt+LeftButton - Remove Curse
Ctrl+LeftButton - Regrowth (Rank 10)
Shift+LeftButton - Lifebloom (Rank 1)
Ctrl+RightButton - Swiftmend
Shift+RightButton - Rejuvenation (Rank 13)
I do have a multi-button mouse (MX518, to be exact) but I don't think I'm quite ready to delve into the realm of the buttons I never used to begin with!
Also, though, you mentioned interest in using W and R (assuming you're using an ESDF setup) to apply your HoTs, but stated that they are already macroed to shapeshift forms. If you are PVE healing, how often do you really see yourself needing to shift forms to justify them hogging such prime locations for other use? Perhaps you could consider mapping those keys to spells such as Lifebloom and Rejuv, then setting up Shift+W and Shift+R (for instance) to your shapeshifts? Just an idea. :)

@Miyari and to part of the OP's original question:
I have a Logitech G5 mouse which has two buttons above the scroll wheel, and left/right/down clicks on the wheel itself. I use left wheel tilt for Bear, right for Cat, first button after wheel for travel macro and the last button for Aquatic.
If I didn't have
that
much accessibility to my form changes I feel like I'd be hugely less effective. You should go for messing with those buttons, Miyari :).
Meh, okay. I'll continue a bit:
I'm also fairly strange in how I move. My mouse also has a button where one's thumb would sit. I have that bound to toggle auto-run. I move completely with that and turn by holding my right button and turning the camera along with my body. It makes jumpspinning incredibly easy. It totally removes the possibility of strafing, however. This isn't really a problem (or hasn't ever been) since I just just use jumpspinning to do everything I would've done with strafing. The only problem I can see is where mobs end up being
behind
you instead of beside you which gives them the daze chance. I haven't found it to be much of a problem, though.
My left hand, then, sits not on WASD or ESDF, but rather with my left pinkie on the 3. This allows me to hotkey all of the following (and, I
do
use them all on my mage):
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6,Q,E,T,Y,U,B,V,N,H
Some are hit with my four main fingers and some are hit with my thumb (H,V,B,N). T,Y,U are with my left pointer finger.
God knows where I came up with this but I've been using it since I started and there's no way I could change it now.

I've always found the viability of clicking very much depends on your hand eye co-ordination, and whether or not you are partially color-blind (seriously). If you can move your mouse across the screen and click the right icon within the space of a global cooldown, then you are in good shape. Many ppl can't do this.
I use and combination of hotkeys and clicking. Reason being is that as a melee class (i'm feral) moving around fast and accurately is essential, so basically you can't let go of your mouse. Having one set of moves under my fingers and another under my mouse facilitates performing combinations as fast as the game itself will allow.

Well, I think it's a better place for this post:
(sorry for posting it in two topics, won't happen again :D)
Hi!
My question is not fully related to this topic, I hope u forgive me... :D
So...
There are 12 slots on ur base action bar, to which u can link hotkeys. They are referred in the key bindings menu as 'action button 1-12'. There are 10 slots on ur pet's action bar, to which u can link hotkeys, these slots are referred in the key bindings menu as 'secondary action button 1-10'. And there's a third action bar to which u can link hotkeys, referred as 'special action button 1-10'.
My question is: On which action bar do I have to put the icons of spells and abilities to be able to use 'special action button 1-10'? I have switched on all the action bars in my interface menu and put icons on them. But using the bid hotkeys of 'special action button 1-10' does nothing. And I need more hotkeys for pvp...
Ty for ur help!

Did you just reawaken a 2 year old thread? *shiver*
Anyway. THe Special Action Button-bar is the one with "stances". Paladin auras, warrior stances, death knight presences, etc.

Sorry if I did. Im new to the game... :D
So u are sayin theres no way to bind more than 12 hotkeys (except for ur pets skills)?

Go into your settings, UI, actionbars I believe, you can click to add another action bar on top of the existing as well as two more bars on the right hand side of the screen.
Edit: Or you could download an addon like Bartender, widely used for better action button handling.

I know that. things u put on those extra action bars cannot be hotkeyed, u can only click the icons on them. Or i dont know how... There are 12 base hotkeys u can use. But I need more if possible.
I think I'll try Bartender...

You have the standard actionbar. You have the petbar and the "stance"-bar.
But you can also enable four more bars from the interface-menu. Check out "actionbars" in there. These will usually be in the bottom of your keybindings-list.

You can hotkey the keys on the extra bars too. I just don't remember what they're called in-game as I don't have the game here. Secondary bar, special bar, something or other, you'll just have to try the different ones and you'll hit it eventually.
I'd try bartender too though, as it it gives you a whole slew of other options.
