Hammer of the Righteous vs Crusader Strike in PVP...

Hey Guys,
If anyone has the time, I would appreciate some testing of my thinking on this topic.
As a prot pally, I've been trying to work out whether HotR or CS is the best default attack in PVP. I've read up on it, and tested them both out on target dummys and out in the world, and the conclusions i've come to are below (rough numbers but hopefully the thinking will be clear)
I'm no theorycrafter however, so if I'm missing something please feel free to let me know.
My CS currently hits for around 5k, regularly critting for 10k+ (all physical obviously).
HotR hits for around 3k, critting for 6k (that's the holy component) plus there's the physical aspect which is something fairly trivial (around 1k usually). Of course, the holy portion hits all targets within 8 yards.
(As far as I can tell, they both seem to be critting according to my spell crit rating)
So CS is the bigger damage, but as it's physical then armour will reduce this. Assuming my armour rating is fairly typical, most plate wearers these days are in something like 60%, meaning even my crits are only landing for about 4k (I have no armour penetration).
So, even leaving aside the multiple target aspect, HotR would seem to be the way to go, apart from vs. cloth wearers I guess (no idea what their AP is right now, pally is all I play really, but I assume it's fairly insignificant?).
Obviously if I'm up against muliple targets, then HotR becomes even more of a no-brainer.
So to summarise: one-on-one with a cloth wearer = CS, everything else = HotR.
That's my thinking so far - but there's a lot I don't know; what other physical dmg mitigation the various cloth classes might have, what kind of armour rating leather/mail wearers are packing these days, if there are any widespread ways to mitigate holy damage (aside from resil, obv), etc.
If you have any suggestions for things I might have missed then please let me know. Thanks for your time.
Cheers

Hmm it would be Cs. Only because pvping as a tank is horrible.
The only time HotR would be better is if you have muiltiple toons on you. And then even they your a dead man walking.

Hammer of the Righteous and Crusader Strike share a cooldown and they both generate holy power. Personally, I would use crusader strike if there is a single low-armor target. I would use HotR if there is more than one target or the target is high armor (mail or above imo).
Also, ret isn't very good at PvP as of right now, all they have is burst, and it's very dispellable. Next patch, ret will be much more viable, also, all paladin specs will get rebuke.

Crusader Strike's tooltip just says it generates holy power. I have both a mid level and a high level paladin, and I've played prot on both, and crusader strike generates holy power for both. I'd just check the crusader strike tooltip.

Thanks all, so far it seems my thinking was broadly correct then.
I can confirm Ret Pallys are broken right now, PVP wise at least. I tried re speccing into that for a while and it was awful (for some reason my CS went onto a 5 sec cooldown instead of 3 sec for prot?). Massive loss of survivability with no DPS compensation.
Also a ret pally got the drop on me in Tol Barad recently (I was enjoying a cocktail after killing a siege engine) and I still managed to kill his ass. He may have just been awful but I did him, literally, one handed, so the spec clearly needs some work.
Happy Killing.

It's still better than Ret in its current state.
