Hello lovely fellow Headers
I've got 2 of my toons doing engineering and would like to take both gnomish and goblin engineering to experience both flavours. I have a Death Knight (frost for solo questing and blood for occasional tanking) and Shaman (enhancement for solo questing and resto for dungie groups) amd wonder whether they would benefit from either specialisation. If there is any benefit that is.
Thank you in advance for kind assistance and thoughts.

The difference between Goblin and Gnomish Engineering is just some fun vanity items that you can make.
For example Gnomish Engineers can make
Geosynchronous World Spinner
&
Ultrasafe Transporter: Toshley's Station
while Goblin Engineers get
Depleted-Kyparium Rocket
&
Dimensional Ripper - Area 52
. (Note that the mounts are BoE and do not require Engineering, so you'll be able to get them regardless of what spec you pick)
Just have a look around (this is a database after all) and see if either side has anything you really want.
There's no difference between the two specializations in terms of end-game content though, as no specific content was added for MoP (save the above linked mounts, but that's purely cosmetic).

The difference is goblins have amazing explosives, and are awesome
However on the flip side, a gnomish engineer can see you without clothes on, even if you attempt to wear lead armor.
In the end, it's all a matter of comparing anything goblins have to blessing of nudity, which is amazing for removing lag in Org or stormwind,
Joking aside, Goblins are the "super serious" engineers, and most of their items are more practical, blow it up kinda stuff,
Gnomes have more goofy items, that focus less on what can I kill, and more on what can I do
In the end they both will be nerfed anytime they get remotely comparable to other professions, My advice, go Goblin on the death knight, Gnomish on the shaman, you'll thank me later.
