My Own Private Idaho was fantastic, one of the best written films I've seen (from Gus van Sant, director of Milk).

So watched RE: Retribution yesterday....and dear god, the movies need to die out already lol. They no longer try for the scare and instead just go for loud noises and the scare cord to make people jump in their seats.
Story wise...well; I've already seen it lol, or to be more accurate read it:
it's more or less Underworld
, with references to Las Plaguas(and that's them without having the Parasite Heads). And they continue the tradition of people being introduced from the game series and dying in the same movie.
So, as a straight up action flick: It's a good movie, but not a great or outstanding one. As yet another RE movie....well, it's just like the last two.
Seriously, at the end of the movie, they show the brave band of defenders at the White House, looking out over an endless wave of T-Virus monsters and the voice over from a familiar character tells us that a certain someone wants us all dead...really, they should have skipped the test facility and just gone for the end of the world war movie instead.

The bad guy kinda sounds like Bane lol. Looks like Iron Patriot, but I doubt their gonna use Norman Osbourne.

It IS Iron Patriot, but from what I can gather the Mandarian may also be showing up. So I'm thinking he'll be the big what while Iron Patriot is a villian assisting him - for his own gains, but being used by Mandarian.

You ever notice all these movies are just a hero fighting a different version of themselves? Captain America and Red Skull? Both had super soldier drug. Hulk and Abomination? Both exposed to gama radiation. Thor and Loki? Both Asgardians. Hell Iron man has fought two people with versions of his power suit already, and now hes gearing up for a third...
Lol and idc what wiki says, their not going to be using the Iron Goblin...

I'm hoping to see that this weekend. I've heard great things about it :)
I just rewatched Rock-a-Doodle. Childhood, relived!

I loved the Duke of Owls in that. Everything else I found was a bit lackluster, save some of the side characters. Not my favorite Don Bluth movie, suffice to say.

I bet Tony made the Iron Patriot suit as a tribute to Captain America or something.

Pretty much this.
EDIT: Actually there is some EU material that would make a good movie. The Vong war would be good, but for the love of God they better stay away from Legacy of the Force...

Vong War is too far in the future; if they were going to make the sequels, those were meant to be set about 5 years or so after the originals.
Jedi Academy games should be good.
......No, we don't need movies based on games, unless it was possibly Shadows of the Empire.

Nah dude, chronologically the first trilogy was about Anakin's generation, the second was about Luke's, assuming they do another trilogy it should be about the Solo kids.
Funny thing is most of the original cast is just about the right age to reprise their roles if they set it around the time of the Vong war or even later.

I agree, the Vong war would make for an awesome movie series. And it would be great to see the original actors reprise their roles.

Original long ago plotting would have had it been about the Republic being setting up. Can't see them suddenly jumping forward to when Jaina and Jacen are teens/early adults without at least explaining where they came from; since if you don't read the EU, you wouldn't know who they were(and there are fans who don't). Honestly, I hope the plan falls through and they don't make an episode 7; just let the Star Wars movie universe die it's final death rather then trying to keep it limping along, as if they try to make new movies, then all of the EU time line is going to be even more @#$%ed up then it already is.
Grumbling about the utter @#$% job they did with Boba Fett in the prequels suddenly reaching forward to the future.
