You're free to make people pay whatever price you want. After BC I don't think 50 gold is unreasonable at all for such an enchant, too.
Though, I never charged (pre BC) any gold for enchants and was almost always getting tipped 10-20 gold, ending up with over 1200-1500 gold gained per month being a popular enchanter.

no, thats not unreasonable, at least on my server. if there is a lvl 19 dagger (shadowfang) which is sell for 400 - 500 g thats not much

...and get the runed eternium rod probably spending over 1000g.
i would charge 100g. if they don't like it, they can find someone else who spent the gold on the runed eternium rod and was lucky enough to see this enchant drop.
link them the mats for the rod if they think your price is too high.

Who cares what you charge? i mean it's their choice to buy it or not, they have no right to call you greedy if they don't plan to purchase it
personally i see common enchants go for 5 gold
uncommon enchants for ~50G
rare enchants go for 100G+
hmm this is kinda off topic, but if you spent 1kG on the runed eternium rod... did you get ripped off or something?
my server
greater planar essence = 5G
= 60G
void crystals = 40G
= 80G
primal might = 80G
= 320G
eternium rod = 200G, or 20G if you buy raw mats and have a BS craft it for you
that's only 480~660G

Charging anything beyond asking for a tip is abnormal on my server if the customer has already acquired the materials.

I take 10g for everything including Executioner, Mongoose and Soulfrost. To me, it's more about the wait for the guy to get to me (or me get to him, I tend to be generous about my time) than trying to squeeze money out of the profession. 10g for 3 minutes of work is good pay. I'm quite a popular enchanter on my realm (EU-Kazzak), but I'm also part of the "hardcore" raiding scene, which means that most people that come to me for enchants are people I know to varying degrees through everything from having been guildies back in Naxxramas, or generally being involved in the same discussions, to SSC alt runs, to chatting in Black Temple general channel while clearing trash up to Mother Shahraz or whatnot. I don't charge much for friends. Also, these people both have the time to spend on getting materials for a large number of enchants but also rapidly acquiring items worthy of the best enchants around. I charge cheap, I get many return customers. For example, there's one same guy who I've done 5 Mongoose and 1 Executioner enchants for, to date.
The only thing I take more for is Surefooted, for which I add 50g for a nether, which is standard on my realm.
Within a week of getting Executioner I had enchanted 7
Cataclysm's Edge

I have never charged anything and never expected a tip. My priest got to 375 and my warrior is at 360 I think. I have always felt that professions are to help out your guild. The way I make money off it is by DEing everything I come across or just go in a lower level instance and kill everything and DE all the greens. Its a pretty good way to make money, but gathering professions are really what makes you the money.
