A proc that only uses 50% of the mats.
Or, a DE proc that doubles the mats created.
Didn't they just do this in the last patch?
Anyhow... maybe they could add "weapon enchant" specialization or "gear enchant" specialization?
I'd love a quest that allowed the enchanter to enchant a head-slot item without a rep grind.

The only professions that have dailies are Cooking, Fishing, and Jewelcrafting. Each of these require you to use Northrend materials for the most part in order to complete them. Enchanting quests, for them to follow along with this, would cost FAR too much to be incorporated in the game as it currently stands (not to mention they currently do sell Recipes via Vanessa Sellers for Dream Shards). Besides that, if they did introduce it, it'd be something ridiculous like "loot this item and enchant it with something," which is a waste of mats for what, 20-30G?
TL/DR: No to Enchanting Dailies

Question #2: Enchanting Specializations
If they were to introduce specializations, I'd see it as a split between specializing in Enchanting and specializing in Disenchanting. For the Enchanting, your Enchants on Vellums have a chance to proc multiple copies. For Disenchanting, your DEs have a chance to proc additional mats from the item.
With that said, I really wish they'd expand and make JC Specializations to finally split up Jewelry (Trinkets, Necklaces, Rings) & Gems. Seeing what they've done with every other specialization aside from Alchemy however tells me it's pointless.

Nobody said anything about *dailies* they said quests. There are quests for tailors, quests for leatherworkers, quests for engineers, quests for blacksmithing and alchemy. Not sure if there's any for scribes, but yeah it would be cool to have some kind of quest for the enchanting profession, just for fun, or for something unique the enchanter can only use.

To be honest, there would be zero point to this. Tailoring, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing have specializations, but nobody ever picks a specialization on the basis of what gear they're going to use (except maybe Tailoring, but honestly, that decision is very short-term). Alchemy specialization is a little different as well, since it produces consumables that require a relatively high throughput. On any given raid night, I'll now go through 2 flasks and 5-10 potions - and that's with ToC being as short as it is now. Back in Naxx and Ulduar, those numbers would be at least doubled.
How many gems do you require on a daily or even weekly basis? How long have you used any of the profession-crafted gear? The only item that has any sort of longetivity is the monarch crab for tanks, and only for those that stack stamina through the roof.

Actually, some of the ToGC recipes are pretty nice, and since I'm running with a 25-man group, it takes some time to come back into the rotation for the tokens for my gear. I've been using
these
for quite a while now (with one of
these
in the slot). Yes, it hasn't been long per se, and it's not profession specific, but it is a craftable.
While I personally may not need the gems on a daily or weekly basis, there are plenty of other individuals on the server that do, and combined with my Transmute Master I'm selling an average 20-30 gems a week. Sure, it's not as many as my Pots/Flasks, but there is still a need.

I don't even really like the profession quests as it is, to me they are a waste of resources (typically it's "bring me X number of craftables). Plus, they really can't do too much with tme because developing a questline for a single profession can appear one-sided to everyone else (no epic storyline for you!). Maybe they'll have a Guild Quest that does that in Cataclysm, but I dunno...
The only thing I can see them doing is having some sort of high-end Enchant that requires you to perform another type of enchant X-times to get it, not unlike the
Cardinal Ruby Transmute
quest.

Another thought, if there were, or you could specialize your enchanting skill, what types of specialties would you like to see?
You've really tempted me, so I thought up a couple:
Efficient Enchanter:
Allows you to perform your profession without the use of Rods and can create enchant scrolls without Enchanting Vellum. Can be obtained from a series of low level quests.
Potent Enchanter:
The strength of your Enchanting is absolutely profound. Anyone who uses enchants your equipment has a 100% chance to gain a buff that increases their strongest attribute by (Level/2 for below 80, Level - 5 for 80-85). This effect counts as both a Battle and Guardian Elixir effect that can persist through death. All enchanted vellum will have the "Potent" modifier to indicate it can provide this bonus effect. Can be obtained by doing a series of mid-level quests.
Wondrous Enchanter:
Your Enchanting has bizarre effects, sometimes reducing the material cost of enchants by up to 75% and potentially enchanting Enchanting Vellum with a stronger effect. The latter effect can be disabled and enabled at will. This can be obtained by doing a series of high-level quests.
