UN gimmic leading up to thier convention. The cost and energy of publicity outweighed benefits it generated. I will not participate in a political hypocritic mockery of environmentalism.
Except the UN hasn't said whether they support it or not, so your first sentence isn't appropriate? As for the second, that cost and energy has mostly been spent on the Internet from what I can tell... where the servers would be on anyway.
That said, you have a shared view when you say 'hypocritic mockery of environmentalism' (not with me).

Why do Australians act like the whole planet is Australia?
Laihendi is pretty sure he has seen this same mentality on TV before. If it's on TV and the internet, it's true. Don't even argue.

How am I not sensible in saying that the two things that will NOT help a crisis, if there is a crisis are:
A) Government spending
B) Turning our lights out for an hour

Government funds companies to develop more energy efficient automobiles/electronics?

Hmm...
Government gained dollars by taxing companies that then have to raise the prices of thier products due to increase in cost of operation, then used to fund other companies that compete against the first companies to produce slightly more energy efficient products at 4x the cost, all while losing a large amount of cut through governmental berocratic spending, in the hopes of achieveing a massive goal. The goal: (insert what you are concerned about here). Barak Obama, 2012.

You don't seem to like rational thought when it threatens your beliefs.
