Whoa... it's not friday today.
Not yet. I need it to be, though. Or I need something to wake me up. Caffeine is not cutting it.
We're short handed at work today so it's extra stressful. Caffeine is helping, plus the free lunch I get outta the deal.

I'm in NY, and it's 2 in the afternoon. I was ok in the morning, but I've crashed.

With systems camera you can take much better photos than with phone.
iPod has much more storage for music than phone
Video camera take much better quality video than with phone.
Phone was made for calling not for taking photos and for playing. Think if you could play WoW with your toilet and listen music. Now does that make sense? Now toilet wasn't made for that either was phone.
The camera quality on my phone is extremely good. It may not be "professional" quality, but I am not a professional photographer either. But, just a quick look around and I found a 8MP Canon SLR...for $495. and it doesn't do video.
Even a pretty cheesy 1080p video camera would cost me about $150-200
As for music, my "everyday" phone, the Nexus 4, has 16gb of storage. But, I use Google Music to access all 30,000+ songs that I have, so I actually only have about 2Gb of music stored on my phone, for the rare occasion that I might not have data service to access Google. Other phones like the S3 and S4 have micro SD slots, so you can carry as many songs with you as you want. I also get way better sound quality than an iPod
The games on my phone are not console quality, but they are not exactly 8 bit junk either. The quality is at least as good as most handheld systems, like a Nintendo DS. And typically, I only play games on it when I am wanting to pass a little time.
And for all this I paid $350 plus my $50 a month for service. Now, just to get unlimited talk and text, it would be $30, so I am replacing at least $1000 of other equipment with a $350 device, and I am only paying about $20 more a month to use it.
And, did I mention that most music is free, as well as most games. Even games that I would have to pay for are at most, $10, and with Googles new monthly music service, if you don't want to pirate, you can access nearly every song out there for $7 a month.

I just saw the most insane, nonsensical, confusing, and downright MIND****ING CRAZY movie of all times.
Sucker Punch.
By the time the credits rolled, I had accumulated a grand total of 48 WTF moments.
One second the movie is in a brothel, and one of the hookers is about to do a dance, and then................. She's wearing a japanese schoolgirl uniform, in a japanese temple, wielding a katana and a gun, and starts to fight against 16 foot tall stone demon samurai, one of which is armed with a sword, the other one with a spear, and the third one with............... a rocket launcher and a frikking minigun.
One moment the girls are talking about a plan to escape the brothel, the next moment they're fighting in WWI in the trenches, wielding modern-age assault rifles and against Clockwork Steampunk Zombie German Soldiers........................ lemme say that again: Clockwork Steampunk Zombie German Soldiers. Ohhh and one of the girls is piloting a Mecharobot dualwielding gatling guns. Said Mech has a pink bunny painted in the front. o_O No,
Seriously
It also had a scene of a B-25 bomber plane vs a Dragon, the girls fight an army of orcs and knights while using futuristic rifles, and transitions to them fighting essentially Terminators.
I couldn't make this crap up even if I was on drugs.

Oh yea, that movie was complete #$%^, and the trailers made it look so cool.

I never saw Sucker Punch, because it really didn't look that good. The trailors were good-looking trailors, but something about them was so over-designed and hyper-sexualized (with no comedic lines that let me know that it was intentionally overdesigned and ironically hyper-sexualized) that I had no interest. I really liked Sin City, which I feel had a similar look but was written well and not just trying to cram nonsense together.
There is the Uldum quest where you distract some gnomes with a zombie wielding an electric guitar, riding a dinosaur, which is riding a shark, and there's somehow also a laser. That's what this movie looked like to me.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

The sad irony is that in the director's eyes, this was supposed to be an empowering feminist movie. Somehow that kinda got lost in the panty-shots and girls in hooker uniforms wielding big guns.
There is the Uldum quest where you distract some gnomes with a zombie wielding an electric guitar, riding a dinosaur, which is riding a shark, and there's somehow also a laser. That's what this movie looked like to me.
hey, don't disrespect
Epicus Maximus
He's the physical embodiment of awesomeness in warcraft. (And one day I WILL defeat him in the fight club)
I will say this about sucker punch:
This movie has a lot of elaborate action sequences which are full to the brim with guns, swords, martial arts, explosions, robots, zombies, demon samurai, mechs, dragons, orcs, and scantly clad women.
AND I WAS BORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let that sink in for a moment........................... That should not be physically possible. Yet this movie pulled it off somehow. That's impressive (if quite sad if you really think about it)
To its credit, while a terrible movie, it would probably make a KICKASS videogame :P if only because of the dumb absurdity of it all.

I think there is more to Sucker Punch than it's popularly given credit for. I wouldn't call it entirely successful but I'd rather see a film try to achieve a lot and fall short than make no attempt at innovation or depth. Snyder also, love him or hate him, makes visually stunning films.
There's a two part video on Escapist that gets more from it than I did but sums up my feelings on the film pretty well.

Fair enough.
To its credit, the movie wasn't a complete failure to me, the soundtrack was amazing, the visual effects were jaw-dropping, and there was some unintentional hilarity in it as well. But the sums of the parts just failed to materialize in a coherent way. I feel the fantasy segments, had they been tied up more cohesively, and had actual relevance to the plot, would had at least made a very entertaining popcorn movie (Such as transformers) if not a cinematic masterpiece.
Snyder also, love him or hate him, makes visually stunning films.
Ohh no arguments there, this movie is a feast for the eyes, specially the entire dragon sequence
As seen here (For the actual dragon, fastforward to 7:30)
Scenes like that are completely robbed of any tension or excitement when you know the whole thing isn't real, its never happening, its just some weird analogy for some bimbo dancing, unlike in inception where all those awesome gravity-defying stunts, within the context of the movie, were real and had consequences for failure, which created tension and suspense.
None of that is present here, which in turn makes all the action, no matter how visually impressive, and over-the-top, just fall flat on its face.
There's a two part video on Escapist that gets more from it than I did but sums up my feelings on the film pretty well.

I'll give it a view later tonight and let you know what I think.

I had to quit after half the movie. It's funny, it's one of Vikeys favorite movies, and 3 out of his favorites, I've had to ragequit in the middle.
My ex rented it, and she enjoyed it; she couldn't understand how I didn't like it.

Its impresive how a movie with such elements could be boring.
Again, there's guns, swords, dragons, zombies, samurai, robots, and scantly clad women.
AND ITS BORING!!!!!
. That should not be possible. But it is. Such is the magic of cinema.

Mainly because no one really wanted to see stick girl prance around....I really hated her, both the dancer and the fantasy sequences.

The dragon scene was the only one enjoyable to me (that soundtrack was fantastic, I downloaded that song ASAP after watching that bit) even if it was dumb as hell (like the rest of the fantasy sequences)
And I didn't really mind the actress playing babydoll (AKA the dancer). Sure her face is emotionless, but that's become the new standard in hollywood. Actresses are no longer cast based on........ you know, they capacity for ACTING, but rather by their face (And
sometimes
all the time, their boobs). I've gotten used to it by now.
