Is there any way to block a wi fi network from knowing what websites I am accessing?
Yes there is
.
How does this work, exactly... break it down to layman for me.
Edit: ok, my work wi fi is unable to see that I'm on omegle through Tor, and it was blocked through regular chrome.

Instead of looking up a site on a domain name server then routing your traffic through public nodes where the source (you) and destination are visible, TOR traffic enters an encrypted network of nodes and bounces around randomly before heading to the destination, and during the hops none of the nodes know who you or the destination are, so even if the nodes were being directly monitored your security is guaranteed. The only time anyone can see the information is when it comes off the last TOR node and goes to the destination, so an outside observer would never know anything about where the data came from except the last hop.
Essentially, it'd be like trying to work out where I live when all you know is after coming from there, I took a bus from JFK International to the Empire State building.
But if they control the wi fi network I'm using, can't they see the addresses coming off the busstop?

There is some sex in the thing; believe me, what's shown in the trailer is barely a tenth of what's in the actual movie.
So the movie is less than a half hour then? luls
Har har har: I meant the death, gore, nudity and sex....seriously, that thing makes the 300 or the Immortals look like a kiddy movie.
Edit: It's also a million times better.
Good to see you're at least smart enough to not take that seriously =).

Nope, the people whose WiFi you're using will only be able to see that you're connecting to a TOR server (assuming they can decrypt it too, which is unlikely), not what you're doing with the connection.
That sucks.
I need a foolproof way to control my wi fi network.

Finished another blog article.
I rushed it a little bit so feel free to tear apart inconsistencies and I'll fix em.

TOR? I have no idea if it's illegal, but it's fantastic.
It's clearly an illegal
software
substance.

Are you planning something naughty? :3
If you're just wanting to stay anonymous it'll provide you with everything you need, it even gets through the great firewall of china, and most of the Syrian and Egyptian protests were organised with it (and they have their governments actively trying to stop them).
I want to monitor my kid's activities on their PCs, while at the same time, not letting my new "work" monitor my use of the office wi fi system. Not that I'm planning anything naughty, but I don't want my boss reading my emails, or reading the abortion debate, or something else. Call me paranoid.

I like
this
pic (it's not really anime or manga, it predates them and sort of sets the scene... similar to donnymurph's photo kinda).
Also, I just spent from 1pm to midnight at uni frantically trying to get two essays done (I always leave things to last minute, but one of them I'd gotten about halfway done and the other about a quarter).
Then I found out at around 7 that the word count was 500 under what I'd expected for the one I thought I'd only done a quarter of at the beginning (I'd gotten it up to 2700/2000 words including references, but managed to get it within 10% of word count not including references by 8pm, which apparently is acceptable).
Then at about 11:30 I realised I wouldn't be able to complete my other essay (was on 1600/2000 words, had to rewrite stuff I just realised was crap) because there was one thing that wasn't available in any of the material they'd given us and another thing that I just couldn't work out how to interpret (we are meant to go to drop in sessions for these problems, but my tutor's email isn't available online and I don't know when his hours are). I considered four things: dropping out of uni, asking a friend, consulting the internet or emailing a lecturer (even though I know they'd hate me emailing them the day before the deadline).
I opened my uni emails and realised that the deadline is two weeks from now for my next essay. I immediately Ctrl + S then close the document I'm working on, then realise it was saved to a temp location that isn't accessible. I rewrote most of the stuff at the beginning too.
Then I tried to print my other essay and wasn't able to for absolutely no discernible reason.
My emotions are a mixture of jubilation and rage and I'm sat here with a poker face.
Oh well, since it's mostly fresh in my memory, I'll rewrite my second essay, attempt to print my other one again and see my tutor tomorrow.
Night :>
