It's not sad that they get "wussified" because they're for CHILDREN! What do you not understand here?
Those are not child friendly deaths...and those are the villains; what happens to some of the allies is fairly bad too; poor poor poor Ray.

No worse then Rapunzel; the witch finally figures out that someone has been visiting the girl when she asks her why her clothing is getting tight around the middle......which of course, involve said prince having his eyes ripped by the thorns and blinded till the healing tears of Rapunzel fixes them.....
Again, a lot of the 'real' fairy tales are pure nightmare inducing, and are meant as warnings, not cutesy little tales to tell your children.....

True, but given how it all works (or seems to work nowadays), blood and gore is farther down on the "list of things you shouldn't view during childhood" than rape.

So I just had a call from someone who was starting a business, and wanted to buy stuff from my company. Thing was, she actually had no idea what was involved in starting said business, and wanted me to explain to her on the phone how her company should work. And, she wants to know if I think that she can do herself (from home, I guess) what most companies require a warehouse, a small fleet of delivery trucks and enough working capital to prepay several pallets of merchandise a month from manufacturers for.

you forgot Snow-white :P in the original tale, Snow-white wasn't a saint, she was actually quite a cold-hearted b1tch who held her dad between her fingers, when the queen was exposed, snow-white sentenced her to dance to death.........

Long ago, tales weren't meant to entertain kids, they were meant to scare them off to prevent them from doing crazy sh1t, I mean, you would pale if you ever read the original Red Riding hood (Hint: The wolf wanted to rape little red riding hood, and actually forced her to eat the remains of her grandma')
Because all of that would suck. Disney is for children, they don't need their lives ruined at 4 years old.

Well that's not disney. Who complains about movies for kids not being brutal...
well, I'm not quite complaining but must point out a slight mistake there, These tales weren't meant to be childish, they were meant to be horrible.
A classic Example was Hercules :P Disney's version has almost nothing to do with the original greek myth (lets just drop 1 itty-bitty part here: Herc was a demi-god instead of a full god because he was a bastard child of Zeus, see, daddy Zeus RAPED a mortal woman and impregnated her, this woman gave birth to a demi-god, mortal like the rest of the humans but with divine strength, and Hera, the wife of Zeus constantly tried to kill him)
That being said, I can't say I aprove SCARING children to force them to be disciplined, I had nigthmares for several days the first time my mom read me Hanzel & Grettel, ya know since they pushed an old woman into an oven
