Have fun as a paladin.

meh, i've heard alot of complaints like this.
but i love tanking with my warrior.
i don't know about raids as i haven't done a whole lot of raiding. . .but from my experiences with 5 man heroics my warrior is just fine at tanking anything thrown at me.
like i said before, it's the player behind the warrior.
sure it takes alot of work to get good at tanking with a warrior effectively (imho). . .but that's part of the fun for me. i take pride in improving my skills as a tank with my warrior.
and sure we have weaker aoe threat abilities then other tanking classes. does this mean we can't aoe tank? not even close. i almost never lose agro anymore with 4+ badies.
i like the difficult learning curve warrior tanks have. . .just makes tanking more gratifying for me.
but yeah, maybe warriors just aren't for you. play your pally, enjoy him, and move on.
but i don't believe it's because warrior tanks suck. from my experience, it's not the warrior class that sucks. . .it's that the player playing the warrior is struggling.
thnx.

i don't want to argue about class balances because i honestly wouldn't know.
all i'm saying is from my experiences warriors can tank just fine. and for me, i really enjoy tanking with my warrior.
but i've never tried tanking with other classes. . .maybe if i tried out a pally i'd come to the same conclusion as you have. who knows?
but for now i'm having too much fun with warriors. i can tank with little problems in the 5 mans i do, and i can produce decent amounts of dps in my off spec.

On my warr in threath gear i can produce 2,3k dps when tanking patchwerk 10man. I never seen any other tankclass break 2k.
But yeah, i agree with you on the other parts.

warriors might be a little tougher to play than a pally, especially in threat-generation. however, if you are failing as an OT or at DPS, then it is you that is failing, not the class.
to answer your question, you should not keep playing your warrior. you should log onto your pally and make that your main immediately - fewer fotm warriors to worry about.

it's fine that you don't want to play your warrior anymore, it's not for everyone... enjoy your pally.
but i don't think you're going to find a lot of agreement here; i have yet to find the encounter that a pally can do that i can't.

Phase 3 of Yogg-Saron. That the only, ONLY, fight that I hate to tank and that a Paladin is much better suited for.
Absolutely any other fight, I feel I am as good or better than a paladin.

I tanked both on my Warrior and my Paladin and I clearly like tanking on the warrior better. He's got better gear so that probably has a lot to do with it. The mechanics for a paladin feel "off" to me, I was just missing a lot of things I took for granted on my warrior. Just the ability to move around the battle space, unique abilities like spell reflect, and having infinite were just too good in a tank environment.
That being said, I'm on my paladin a lot more than my warrior. Has nothing to do mainly with tanking raids though. The Paladin moves faster, can solo a LOT of things my warrior can't (Onyxia, Outlands 5 mans, Kara, etc) and I'm having a ton of fun doing so. Also healing is the last role I've taken on and it's a lot of fun still. Maybe I'm just burnt out on tanking.
In summary, if my guildies / friends needed me to tank I bring the warrior. Otherwise I'm mainly on my paladin.

Your opinion of warrior vs. pally tanking is so bias. Warriors can be just as good if not better the pally tanks if played right. Warrior just takes a higher skill level to tank as. You say your a very good tank? Then you'd be doing just as well on your warrior as you do on your pally. Therefore, you are not great warrior tank. Not at all bad, just not great.
Have fun as a pally. And arms is mostly pvp btw, if you wanna dps go fury.

why do you say that? i don't mind phase 3 - just rotate the camera and taunt as soon as they're in range.

Anyone stating warriors are toptanks are idiots, sorry for saying so.
The only thing they bring is sunder armor. I would take a warrior tank any day of the week just for that, wel yea what can I say, im an armswarrior :p.
Warriors atm do les DPS and have les survivability then a paladin. Saying otherwise is just stupid.
Yes I love my warrior, no I won't change, yes I hate QQ about warriors(especiely about PvP) but while I push out DPS to slip into the top3 on Ignis, I wouldn't even wanne know the DPS I could push on a rogue.
Funny thing is, blizzard said in Q&A that palie tankin is worse then warriortanking in 3.1, makes you wonder wheter they play the game.
Warriors can tank anything, are awsome tanks etc. al true...
palies are only better at 90% of it.
Kinde like warriors were fine in 3.1 PvP but DK's/rets were OP.

I'm not so sure about being less fun...
Sure, we're smashing seals and stuff as pally tanks, but brothers let me tell you...nothing is quite the same as a cold, hard Shield Slam to the face. Now
that'll
wake ya up in the mornin'
Whatever you choose to do FranklinNoble -- use Protection.

For those about to tank, WE SALUTE YOU!
