defensive 2 handers?

i used paladin as a filter to take out the staves... but why have 2 handers with defensive stats?
(excluding the 2 handed aces for druid tanking)
i mean, yea the parry, dodge, even the defense DOES come in handy but it really isn't all that great...
is there a hidden purpose for these item i'm not aware of?

.. As for the other items, they're all from before Burning Crusade so i don't think we should really care, although i'll agree that they are a bit pointless. Specially those with parry because not even druids can put those to proper use.

well i have no clue why paladin filter would do that, but they do say that when WotLK comes out, that death knights can tank with 2-handed weaps
