Death Knights: Weak or lack of experience?

Ok so I have been hearing many opinions abour Death Knights, and it seems like alot of Death Knights cannot pull off what other classes can do at level 70-80, such as high dps and tanking (They can, but just not as well.) Is this because Death Knights were made a bit weaker given the 1-55 free, or just the lack of experience because they have not played their class from 1-80?

Lack of experience. 100%.
DKs are plenty powerful in leveling up and in raids. As tanks and DPS.

I'd say Death Knights are very competitive when it comes to dps and tanking. With the new spirit of the game since WotLK (Bring the Players Not the Class) many steps have been made in order to turn the different classes more or less on par with eachother.
If your assumption about DK's is that they're not as "good" as other classes, then you've pretty much answered the reason to why yourself :P just the lack of experience because they have not played their class from 1-80
There's black sheeps for every class :)
P.s. DK's is one of the most successful classes when it comes to soloing things, such as old content ;)

Keep in mind that Blizzard has stated several times that it's intended that "pure" classes are able to dish out more dps than hybrid classes. So in theory a rogue played correctly should always be able to dish out more damage than a DK dps. However in practice, this is almost never true, seeing how, as most of the above mentioned, Skill and experience will always weigh heavy when it comes to how you perform.

Can you link this? I seem to remember them stating the exact opposite.

As a rule about 80-90% of all players of nearly all servers suck with any and all classes

Thanks alot, keep it coming!
And P.S, I just hit 55 on my mage and loving every second on it! :)
You guys make a good point, depends heavily on the player rather than the class.
I'm gonna try my hardest to learn rotations and all stuff so i won't end up a deathnoob!

Id say about 75-85% of people who play wow just don't know how to play their class properly, it just so happens there's a large percentage of people playing DK's right now so it seems like the class is broken.
I have a friend i work with, plays a prot pally and raids naxx. He isn't spec'd into Anticipation (5% dodge) or Deflection (5% parry). When i asked him why, he tells me he wants to play his class the way he wants and doesn't wanna just follow the crowd. He doesn't even listen to reason, he just wants to play the way he wants and wont listen to logic about why his choices are wrong.
I get similar responses when i talk to DK's that are still duel wielding. Ive heard it from people of all classes when i point out mistakes they are making. Some people just don't care about "maximizing" their potential.
As for me, im doing full clears of 25man naxx as a tank. We clear it in one night usualy, sometimes we do saph and KT on the second night. I find i have a much higher threat generation rate than any other tank in our guild. I have actually been yelled at before because its so high in particular situtations, like trying to stay second on aggro. Survivability seems to be much higher in 3.1 now, yea we lost a bit of avoidance, but i think most healers prefer that our mitigation is higher now instead.
As a DK tank, i see absolutely no drawbacks whatsoever. I've raided end game with a feral druid and a prot warrior and I truely believe i am playing the best tanking class in game right now.

/thread every class can be good, it all depends on the player
I agree completely. I wish people would realize this. Step 1 for getting better at WoW: Don't be ignorant.

I made a second DK and every quest that gave me the s***s on my first DK was a lot easier and I was pulling off stunts that I could have only dreamed of on my first.
It's experience, and I'm still learning.
