I think my favorite WoW moment was while I was playing my hunter:
After a while I realised you could weave
Aimed Shot
s between
Auto Shot
s with a sufficiently slow weapon, and that
Multi-Shot
benefited infinitely from using a slower weapon also; since the attack-power was still calculated from the weapon's speed.
At the time I was using
Bloodseeker
and due to my newfound revelation (OK Lactose helped :P), refused to take any ranged weapon that dropped for our guild, insisting others took the
leaf
, rogue's took
Striker's Mark
untill the faithful day that
Ashjre'thul, Crossbow of Smiting
dropped on our first
Chromaggus
kill. I basically spent a week in awe of the sheer burst damage the weapon could put out. I'd go to BRM and alliance would die before the second shot even hit them if Aimed Shot crit; all the while I was talking to myself and shaking my head saying "this is unfair... this is unfair...", smiling all the same.
Sure enough Blizzard caught on to (I like to think) my devious ways and normalised ranged weapons (a good bit after melee tho!) and the fun was over. Ashjre'thul still hit harder than most, but the difference was not as insane.
Glory days~

I've had many memorable moments in my wow career. However one that stands out among others would be the the time I pugged Molten Core all the way to Ragnaros.
I remember it wasn't long before BC came out. I remember nervously joining the pug for my first real raid and healing as a feral specced druid (which was possible in Vanilla wow.)
I remember the epic Core Hound pulls, the monumental boss fights, getting my t1 Cenarius Gloves and being the only druid in the raid throwing hots and rank 4 healing touches.
And I remember the first time we fought Ragnaros, there hasn't been anything as epic as watching Ol' Rag pop out of the lava and one shot Executus (who needed a whole raid just to subdue him.) and hearing his epic emotes. We tried all night to down the fire lord and finally called the raid at 4am when people began to drift off to sleep.
I have a macro even now to play "By Fire be Purged!" and "Taste the Flames of Sulfuron!"
Someday soon I hope to go back and get a Sulfuras.

I remember the first time I heard that you could actually get to the IF Airport. I beg and pleaded with a couple of friends to show me the way, and after about 20 minutes of trying and falling, I found myself riding up and down the air strip, taking screenshots and the like. Then we went exploring, and I saw what now proves to me why we will never see flying in the current map of azeroth. There we saw what eventually became Arathi Basin in it's dev phase, we found a few levels of dungeons and so on. They were putting the content in, but it was in the unused places of the world! I still wonder to this day what we would find if we went to some of those unavailable places on the map...

My favorite moment was killing Kael'thas Sunstrider with my guild. That fight and his death was the most epic moment I've ever experienced in this game.

My favorite and most breathtaking moment was when i first started playing wow, about 3 years ago. When i first saw the scale of the world i thought: "Damn, this is.. just huge!" And when i finally got my nightelf to be able to walk through the wetlands, i thought i had seen the best already. But then, I came across Ironforge. The glorious city built into the snowy peaks of Dun Morogh, made by those small yet brave dwarves. This moment really took my breath away. The size of ironforge was unrepresented and i will never forget seeing the "core" of IF. The lava-like thing flowing out of the rocky ceiling, falling into the pool of molten metal in in the rockfloor. This really gave me shivers as i saw the beauty of that which blizzard had created.
//Rycul.
PS: Once WotLK goes live, i hope it will give me about the same shivers for some things. From what I've seen/heard, WotLK will really go back to the original feel of WoW. Can't wait to see what blizz has done with WotLK and maybe, with a little bit of luck I can get that feel a little bit sooner than others (if i win a key here ;) ). And i promise that if i win a key, i will share it with a friend of mine who's tried about 6 ontests on a lot of large, and not so large websites, but has never won yet.
PPS: Good luck to everyone else that's participating!

My favorite wow memory occurred in Blackwing Lair. My guild, having worked very hard to learn the instance, and get to Nefarian, were well on our way to beating the encounter. Wipe after wipe, we came back and got better each time. Finally, we got to the last phase and were on our way to downing the big dragon, when suddenly, our Main Tank disconnected from WoW. Feeling let down and discouraged, our Guildmaster said to continue for the practice. To our surprise, our Main Tank continued to tank and hold agro for the duration of the fight. Just as we downed Nefarian, he logged back into a large corpse. We jokingly told him he was a better tank when offline, and everyone cheered at our accomplishment. The feeling of beating the last boss in the game, coupled with doing so with an offline Main Tank, has yet to be beat!

Well,
similar to the original post, I too started on the Alliance back in the good old Pre AQ days as a Night Elf Rogue. I played that character to 45 but i constantly got sick of getting completely worked in any Battleground i ever went in due to twinks. So i finally decided i wanted to make a 19 twink myself. I created a Dwarf hunter and started leveling him but i wanted him to be incredibly unique so i wanted him to have Echeyakee, one of only 2 White lions in the game, however Echeyakee is only able to be spawned by horde characters. So i created a horde and lvled him up specifically just to spawn Echeyakee. Along the way I recived more help and consideration from horde characters in the area than i had ever seen in my months of lvling on my Alliance rogue. once i finally spawned Echeyakee and tamed him with my Dwarf i finally realized where i really belonged in the game. from that point on i have been Horde. I deleted my Rogue, and Hunter rerolled a Horde Tauren Hunter whom i still have too this day(Khellendros on Zangarmarsh) and has the old school titles which are so rarely seen anymore on twinks. Just the help recived in the community that was provied was truly amazing for me as it was something that i never expected.
Toryne 70 Undead Rogue (Cenarion Circle)
Khellendros 29 Tauren Hunter (Zangarmarsh)
Torntrius 29 Orc Shaman (Cenarion Circle)

Back when BWL was still the hardest instance out my guild (which had until 2 months prior, been a pvp guild) was working hard on Nefarian, and by hard I mean really hard. Coming from a pvp culture we were all the stay up all night and all day to hit our goal, and this pve encounter was no different. Tired almost to the point of exhaustion a friend and I were sitting in a netcafe on opposite sides of the isle, and had been for the entire night, when we finally downed Nefarian, both of us, with not a word spoken, stood up, turned around, and shook hands, before returning to our seats to join in the ventrilo conversation. An epic moment I will always remember, even moreso because I recieved my first piece of judgement, the chest!
