I'm talking about stacking one class, eg Paldians for uber buffs, while leaving classes like rogues out. Certains classes, like rogues (only class actually) bring nothing to the table in raids except another than another inturrupt. They have no special unique buffs, but I have a feeling that more good stuff will be coming to them soon. (Crossover with kings, is my guess)
People stack certain classes, that most raid leaders now see as nesissary. Example, VoA
PUG
yesterday, the raid leader refused to start without a priest, whether it be a dps or a healer. Some classes, the ones with unique buffs, bring alot of +++ to raiding, and most people don't have a rogue in their raid group, but almost always 3 or more paladins.
People don't pug rogues because most rogues who pug do laughable DPS. I agree that this can be seen as a generalization but I'm just going with what I've seen in my own experiences in pugs on my two realms.
However, in a raiding guild, no one should be excluding their rogues, they are potentially the #1 DPS right now if equipped right.
If you want to see bring the player not the class in action, start your own pug. It's really up to the raid leader who comes and goes.
Well equiped and good rogues do very high dps, making up for their lack of raid benefits. But when you think about it, a rogue still is capable of exposing armor, and tricks of the trade. Rogues thrive on being geared, my friend's rogues dps went up by 25% when he upgraded his 141 dps fist weapon to a calamities grasp (using the heroic dagger of anub in his offhand). Geared rogues do high dps, higher then most other classes, if they know their class and rotation.
Rogues are not useless and are useful to a raid: Infact, we first defeated Auriaya (AKA crazy cat lady) before the pounces were nerfed by having our two raiding rogues distracting two of the cats repeatedly, then using ToTT to pull them onto our tanks.
Because Auriaya's pathing was about 40 yards behind her first two cats, we were able to kill those cats before the next two arrived, thereby making the encounter significantly easier. When it comes down to it, Rogues can stealth, and this is a very good thing.
