Main difference between the book and enchanting is:
Everyone can use the disenchanted mats since everyone needs enchants. I usually run with a friend who is an enchanter and ask him to disenchant everything I won on greed rolls after the run.
Same on my alt, there I got enchanting myself. After a run with a good group I offer to disenchant everything they won on their greed rolls (for free of course but sometimes they tip which I don't really mind).
The book on the other hand has absolutely no use to non-scribes. Other then enchanting mats they can't do anything with it except sell it. So I think it should be treated as BoE roll like others have said before: The scribe should have priority on it and use it right away.
Greens = Enchanting Mats = Money
Glyph book = Money
You're rolling on money. It's not a rare item. It's easy to find and buy on the AH, just like enchanting mats.
If someone needs 20 dust for an enchant and they don't have it on them, they buy it.
If someone has 20 dust they have no immediate need for, often they sell it.
If someone wants glyph mastery books and they don't have one, they buy it.
If someone has a glyph mastery book that they don't want to use, they sell it.
Everyone needs money. Everyone. It's not being any more greedy than the person who has the profession to use it.
This is only completely random pugs of course.

To Sum Up (IMO) If your a Chanter, you feel ripped-off at the system.
If your a Scribe, you feel ripped-off at the system.
I see reasons why Both arguments are right. We dont roll for Artic Furs when a Skinner get's one from a boss or such.
this is more an issue with personal(s) opinions during a run.
I, Myself, make Tons of gold on the AH, and I do not care what a chanter does with shards 90% of the time. I am a Scribe, and whereas I can Buy books, when one crosses my path, I feel it's approprate for me to be allowed to Read it, cause I can. I tend to offer to make anyone the glyph i just learned if anyone wnated one. but that's how I roll.
I am Also happy when someone get's something cool, even if I wanted it too. I am not a "Greedy (read - selfish)" player. and I like to run with people like minded.
I am lucky. On My server, I have only Ever run into 2 or 3 Bad pugs in 3 years. I play on an older server, and even the Pugs I run with are super nice.
But this will be an ongoing issue (books and chant mats) for a long time. I believe the new system will only @#$% off chanters more, as they will loose a lot of mats due to immediate delivery to a player. But I do not want to get off topic.

what is the big deal, the books goes for around 50g max on my server atm. this is due the wonderful called sharing in groups and random drops, then supply outgrows demand. the prices drops until an acceptable level.
this happens with all items sooner or later, so i do not see any harm in this.
Recpeies on the other hand is another thing, they are usually alot rarer to drop and if someone needs a recepie it should with no question be his, due he worked for it. most recepies are bop and only visable to proff maker so this is not a big deal anymore in wotlk.

People keep bringing up gold but that is a complete cop out. Thats like someone rolling on a priest piece when they are a warrior. Yea youll make gold off of it but your a moron for doing it.
The difference is, the priest couldn't just go to the AH and find 100 identical versions of that piece and buy one for exactly the same amount of money the warrior could make off of it.
It's very common for pug raids to let everyone roll on BoEs for money for two reasons:
1. Anyone could just buy that piece if they need it.
2. So no one will ninja it.
The exact same thing applies here, only on a much, much smaller scale. So small a scale, that it barely matters. Anyone who makes a big deal about it probably just has nothing better to do.

Everyone greeds these. I have never seen an inscriber say "hey that should belong to me". Its 20-30G in the AH.......
Anyone comparing this to 1 class looting on another class's gear (ie cloth user rolling on plate) then yea, i guess you're right....... if its a GREEN ITEM that is easily replaceable by a cheap purchase on the AH.

A huge massive debate about this?
As a Scribe, I ask. It's that simple. If people say no, tough %^&*, I move on and greed with the rest. If they say yes, then I'm a happy chappy. Either way, there should be absolutely no problem with this kind of thing; if you're not a dlckhead
