102.4% is referred to as
block-cap
since Wrath came out. 102.4% was
never
referred to as avoidance. By the folks that know the terminology and use it correctly (Silly English I know right) it
was
referred to as uncrushable or unhittable (unhittable still works) Maybe by a few misinformed people that liked the sound of 'avoidance' better i suppose.
There is a large difference between taking 20,000 damage (2000blocked) and avoiding it altogether. Block is mitigation.
Sorry that you've been mislead, but continuing to refer to it wrong just because you're stubborn doesn't magically have it make since. Thats the same as people talking about 'defence cap'. There is no such thing attainable in this game. If we did have 102.4% avoidance, how do you suppose we would ever get hit by melee.
hmmmmm?
102.4% overall
avoidance
is required to attain
the blockcap
. If you just say 102.4%, there are a lot of people out there that are not going to have any clue what you're saying, so you label it, and it is, and always has been, labeled as
avoidance
.
Youre pretty stupid. By all means, continue looking stupid. Thats all I can say.
Fine...
AVOIDANCE/MITIGATIONS
needs to equal 102.4% to reach the Block cap. Are you happy you stubborn piece of @#$%? You troll around here all day long doing nothing but stir up arguments that really aren't important at all. It's actually kind of funny.

No, he's got a point. Quest is one of the biggest a-holes to post in these forums. He might know what he's talking about, but the manner in which he treats other people diminishes the value greatly.
Everything has diminishing returns nowadays, huh? :(

Being prompt and direct does not make you an #$%^&*!. Screaming on forums about how your right (Amazadin) when your obviously mis-phrasing what your wanting to say, now there is the sign of a true #$%^&*!.
But anyways, I digress....
102.4% is the amount of combined Block, Dodge, and Parry you need to successfully avoid or block every swing from a boss level mob. Generally speaking, anywhere from 16.5% and upwards will get you to where you need to be with Shield block(When you include raid buffs that is). Past that, stack pure
AVOIDANCE
(Parry / Dodge) because more chance to fully negate damage is always better. Or Stamina, if you prefer, it all comes down to your preference. (^_^)
Best of luck.

I would agree that I can be an ass, but in this case its a pretty poor example. You wanna call a cat a dog, and insist its a dog, then I'd tell even my best friend he was an idiot, because thats truth.

The goal is to reach 102.4% of pure avoidance, but because of dimnishing returns, it is impossible to get that number.
Rofl.
I'll let Quest take this one.
