Hi there, mates!
I just read a few posts complaining about the features supposed to be included in the next expansion. Well, I just wanna point out I have full confidence in what Blizzard does. Just think about what it was like being a Holy Priest some time ago - with just Healing Gear and Healing Spec and not being able to solo or level efficiently. I found it VERY frustrating to live just to heal someone else. ;-)
And what do we have now? Dual spec system allows healing Priests to solo as Shadow and the same spell power gear applies to both healing and damage dealing. That is just one example of Blizzard´s capability to develop the game into more enjoyable forms.
I have no complaints about my Priest nowadays whatsoever. Looking forward to the next expansion! :-)
What do you guys think?

(Disclaimer -- I just had a hard night and I've just downed an even harder drink. All my posts around Wowhead tonight will reflect this. Be forewarned.)
I /care about your enthusiasm as much as I /care about people QQing.
I -- no one else -- will be the judge of whether I -- no one else -- like the expansion's new content or not.
Whether you like it or dislike it really has no factor in whether I do or not kthx.
That said -- I love all the new ideas. I'm surprised half of them haven't happened yet.
A few concepts of character customization seem ripped right from a project I've been working on for my resume.
NO
, I'm not saying they got it from my project,
HUR HUR HUR
, but it's nice to see them finally let go of certain concepts they've been holding onto for years now, and think outside of their own box.
I've never "put my faith" into Blizzard. Having played a Ret Pally for a while, I can account for all the weird and stupid stunts they've pulled (wait, which seal is for PvE again?). It's refreshing for them to take so much interest in character customization, after years of all of us sniffing the butts of ElitistJerks.com and having to do the very "best" spec -- meaning everyone else has the exact same thing -- or fear being called a scrub.

It is obvious Blizzard needs and listens to the feedback from the community. I´m not opposed to any kind of decent feedback, really. It is necessary. Not everything goes right straight away.
The Priest class has had its ups and downs as well. But I sure know the class is more enjoyable and player-friendly now than it was before. The little things add up, for example giving Divine Spirit and Devouring Plague to all specs, making Discipline a valid PvE healing spec, the list goes on and on...

Even though Blizzard HAVE helped our class quite a bit, such as with Disc PvE, they have made their fair share of mistakes. The ill-thought out Penance cooldown nerf comes to mind.

At least one thing will surely be buffed with the stat changes. Levelling. Intellect and spellpower in one is a godsend for any levelling Priest, for sure.
For judgements, i need to see something more solid. The additions sure seem nice, the stat revamp is confuse but might work, but untill we see and test out, not much of a fair judgement can be done.
But what really shocks me is the stunning difference felt from BC to Lich King and from Lich King to Cataclysm. It is two worlds apart, completely.

^ this.

I agree and disagree. The nerf was really needed from both a PvP and a very-well-geared PvE perspective. It was a bit much how it was.
But for an undergeared Priest, who could already have had troubles in their first Heroic, it's certainly a noticeable nerf.
So yes, ill-thought out. But needed to an extent. Perhaps a bit of tinkering with the scaling to Spellpower would have been more appropriate.

No, what I meant about it being ill-thought out in the fact that now we are one major glyph slow down just to keep a spell exactly the same as it was a couple of weeks ago.

Is this guy 9 years old or something? He must consider himself very intelligent and brave.

I agree Priests need to be understood more by the devs.

Cecyll and Patty, could you please inform/describe me what is the major blizzardian misunderstanding concerning the priest class? Because I honestly don´t know what has caused such mistrust. There must be some major problems I´m not aware of.

Cecyll said, so I'll just quote him.
The Q&A from a few weeks ago really showed that the class is in the hands of people who don't fully know what a priest is and how they work. The contradictions to what was said in the Q&A and the patch that was released that same day (3.2), particularly regarding burst but nerfing PoH, helped back that stance. The very little coverage priests got at Blizzcon really supports the stance by showing that they don't have any apparent interest in the class.
Also, as I said, the way they have made Discipline priests 1 major glyph slot down, bloated the Holy tree and have kept Shadowform exactly the same since level 40 really shows a major lack of understanding.

OK. I have confidence in the Blizzard system of getting it right EVENTUALLY. Every decent organization is capable of re-evaluating their work and fixing problems if necessary.
I don´t really pay all that much attention to what is being said. The company is huge and therefore has many voices and actions. The eventual outcome is a mixed balance of those voices and actions.
It sure is in everybodys interest to take care of the priest class and make it work.

I'm not too impressed with their totally overhauling the territories, merging together the eastern and kalimdor, etc.
There's so much more but I think they should just leave the Classic part of the game alone.
