Ba'al from SG-1 definitely has to be the greatest villain of all time.

I don't know of any villain who compares - Ba'al was worshiped by billions, he played his way into possession of an almost unstoppable army, he saved the universe from destruction so that he could conquer it for himself, he helped bring about the downfall of gods,
he killed the main protagonist
(even if the protagonist did eventually get saved by the help of a god), he created a legion of clones of himself, he infiltrated and brain washed governments and world leaders of Earth and numerous other worlds... and he did it all with only the desire for domination and his genius.

TheMediator, as a fan of Stargate SG-1, I wholeheartedly agree. But you forgot the incredible and elaborate way he died, without a doubt the best villain death I've ever seen, bittersweet as it was.

Agreed. I'm currently on my third watch-through of SG1, and he's easily my favorite villain.
he's also played by sexy Cliff Simon.

I went fanboy gay for Cliff Simon, the goatee makes me tingle.

QFT. He has such a classic villain look and his human voice is so villainous as well.
As to the way he died... I'm only on the first disc of season 10, so I wouldn't know (I imagine he was going to get killed eventually, so that's not a spoiler). Its just after watching him play SGC so hard (I lol'd when two Ba'al clones started fighting each other), I just HAD to post. He's such a genius.

Be sure to watch Stargate: Continuum aswell, Ba'al is the main villain in the movie and he earns his title as Best SG Villain twice over.

I say the most evil villain ever was Raistlin Majere (even if he is redeemed in the end, kindof)

Speaking of Stargate.... does Stargate Universe seem sort of meh? Or it is just me?

So I watched all of SG-1 and the two movies... LOVED seeing the replicators come back for one last ride.
The series seemed to wrap up very nicely, the only thing that makes me a little disappointed is after the Kull Warriors were wiped out back way when, there was only one reference to them when Vala was using their battle armor. Seemed like a huge miss to me - you've got these almost unstoppable suits of armor, and almost no explanation of why they aren't using used or their technology studied to strengthen the SGC.

Possible explenation: It requires naquadah in the wearer's blood to power the suit.
(don't know if that's true, it's been a while)

No, I remember both Jackson and Selmak using the armor at different points (I think).

Then it makes no sense that the SGC didn't start using the suits. Oh well, not like they really needed it, in the end.

I honestly preferred the Replicators over the Gou'ld. The machine creatures just seemed so much more menacing and deadly then the humanoid opponents.

Meh, I didn't like the total lack of 'human' evilness behind them at first; and then when they did bring that into the plot, I thought it was a bit on the cheesy and cliché side.
