Okay I realize that this will most likely be the thousandth "What joo want to see in da cataclyshm?" thread, but frankly they have gotten stale.
In terms of animations, I'd like to see new death animations that are more dependant on how you died, where you died and what killed you, such as, If you were in the air (you did the classic pally jump/
Judgement
pvp move) and got smacked down by a warrior, you would get dragged down to the ground by that warrior, via the weapon embedded in you, or if you got killed by a hunter, you clutched your throat and fell to your knees before faceplanting in the ground. (You can be creative and come up more ideas yourself.)
In terms of mechanics I'd like to see more character-environment interaction, If I'm in ashenvale(or any other forested area), I want to be able to drop down from a tree and ambush someone! I can't really thing of any other character-environment interaction ideas atm, but tell me if anyone else thinks things like these would be an improvement, and/or list other ideas you think could make the game a bit less plain.
(Other than the new races, class combos, zones, lore etc.)

Okay so the Climbing trees part I take back, it would be too complicated and too many people would QQ about it.
But the death animation thing I stick by.

I would agree with the death animation.
Sword: Clutching chest as you collapse
Mace: Knockback stun animation
Staff: A small cloud of arcane puffs out as you blow back a foot
Wand: Surrounded by that wand's element as you collapse
Gun: Knockback
Bow: Grab the arrow, and collapse as you're pulling it out
Shield: Just the
Shield Bash
effect with a knockdown
Dagger: Clutching throat
Axe: Same as Sword
Fist: Uppercut with knockdown
Polearms: Impaled, and falldown
Crossbows: Same as bows
Thrown: Fall flat forward

And if you fall and die, no just sitting there for a sec.
Night elf falls.
"Oh crap!"
Hits ground.
Nothing happens.
"Hey I'm ali- gack!"
corpse falls over.

Blizzad is doing this sort of thing in Diablo 3, so it's possible that they may implement such a thing for Cataclysm. However, i sort of doubt it. There's no telling how difficult this might be to implement for an MMO.
If you are interested in seeing what Blizzard is planning for special death animations in D3, go
here
and watch the gameplay trailer. You'll see what I'm talking about at the very end of the vid.

Yeah.
:)
Apparently, either for all monsters or just bosses (not sure which), once your health gets low enough and you are dealt what would be a killing blow, the monster has a special kill animation and the game enters into a semi-cut-scene. But that's about all we know about it so far.
