Currently i keep getting errors with wow stating i have insufficient memory to run addons... I currently have 16 gig installed that is recognized by the OS, i have verified it is installed and working and recognized by DXDIAG.
I am getting tired of having to reset up my addons every time i log out...
Is anyone aware of a fix to this?(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##Moved to WoW Help

While you should certainly use the advice above, can you list the addons you use here? Some addons are known to use a crazy amount of memory (such as auction-related addons with a price database, Altoholic, Recount, and so on).
On another note, have you tried running the 64-bit version of the client? If you go into the Game Options in the launcher you should find a checkbox that should be unchecked to launch to 32-bit version of the client, but from what I remember it's checked off by default. The 32-bit version of the client has a cap on how much memory it uses (i.e. 16 GB RAM is a damn lot but you're really only utilizing 4 GB or it or so, hence your memory errors).

Stop playing on private servers. That limitation has not existed since vanilla. The game client no longer puts any artificial limitation on memory usage, and the only way you're getting that alert is if you're running an old 1.x version client.

The game is pretty smart about memory management. It has no problem running within the 32-bit constraint. The main benefit to the 64-bit client is performance, not memory-related. Also, the game make no distinction about who's using the memory, so even if it was running out of alocatable RAM, it would simply crash, not tell you to disable addons.

Actually, it's the other way around.
The performance increase is minimal at best since the game *usually* doesn't need more than 4 GB of RAM by itself, but once you start running addons that may require asinine amounts of memory to function problems may begin.
For instance, my WoW is currently using about 700 MB of my RAM because I'm idling in Orgrimmar, but that could easily shoot up to 3 GB while running Recount in a 25-man raid. I only run the 64-bit client because I have 12 GB of RAM and want to play it safe so my game doesn't crash in my face on the off chance my 30 or so addons start using way too much memory.
Speaking of memory. Ignis: I just remembered someone I know has a huge amount of memory problems on their computer. All the applications they run use easily double the memory my equivalent applications do. Can you post a dxdiag (tossing it up as a download on Dropbox or something is fine. Would be quite the wall of text if it was pasted here)?

It continues to lose settings on addons ie all my settings for Arkinventory

World of Warcraft does not use more than 4 gigabytes of RAM, regardless of 32 or 64 bit clients. The 64 bit client does access the memory faster, but does not use more. That is Blizzard's hack to make sure 32 bit clients work properly with 64 bit clients, at least as far as switching modes on the same computer.
The blue post linked above about saved variables being too large only applies to users with under-powered computers. As in barely making the minimum requirements to run the game in the first place. When you add AddOns to such a system, it is possible to break the bank, as it were.
However, the vast majority of computers used to play the game exceed the minimum requirements, and a big chunk of those exceed the recommended settings. When you are talking about a computer with 3GB+, keep in mind that AddOns are measured in kilobytes or megabytes. That is somewhere between 1/3,000,000,000 and 1/3,000,000 of what your computer has. If your computer notices that extra load, then your computer is dying, and you have larger problems.
AddOn memory usage is measured two ways:
Static load, meaning it does not fluctuate wildly, but may increase or decrease depending on what you are doing. For example, Auctioneer is static, except when you scan the auction house, when its usage increases dramatically. It settles down after the scan. Auctioneer also can increase its static load the more data is contained in your scans. Damage meters are another example. During combat, the RAM consumption goes up, but outside of combat, the load decreases.
Static load is 100% acceptable
.
Increasing load is the other type.
This is bad
, as it is an indicator of a memory leak. It means that some AddOn (or even the base UI) is consuming ever increasing RAM for no determinable reason, eventually using all your computer's memory. None of the AddOns listed by Woodrun have memory leaks. I know, because I currently use almost all of them, and have used the others in the past.
What is most likely happening is that your installed WoW is getting corrupted. You should use the repair tool which is found off the menus in the new Desktop Launcher. If you haven't switched to the new Launcher, you probably should, as it will be a forced change in mid-March.
Even if WoW itself is not corrupt, it is possible that the hard drive is corrupt. Run a chkdsk scan, or Mac equivalent.

HI, as I am reading these threads about lost memory none of them state "where" the addons are storing up memory onto the hard drive of our computer which is causing this. When I check each file individually the authorized used has not changed per my addons. However there is a data file that keeps taking up more and more memory that is part of the game itself. I noticed after a complete reset that World Of Warcraft didn't seem to be disturbing my memory. However as I turn in and then wake up and get on about 12 hours later I notice something has eaten up a good 12 GB of my computers hard drive since complete reset and download of my game was completed. Had noticed tinch while playing WoW but I thought it was from having it open and being caused by use, however this was very wrong. As well it was after being offline for considerable amount of time and then logging back in and at some point deciding to check my memory. Now ERRORs argument. yes TSM has a bug in "cancel" option key since TSM rewrote the new TSM addons about a week ago just after LK launched, basically I get none stop errors using this application. I was fortunate to be talking to a friend and was able to recover Auctioneer and Auctionator 10/27/2022 then as said I did complete system factory restore on 10/28/2022 since I only had 19GB of free space on this new laptop and nothing stored on it but this game and addons and could not figure out what had eaten about 125GB of my space thence as well could not complete my new expansions download from the World of Warcraft. Restore worked, as mentioned for everything downloaded, then from a 32GB external drive I carried back over my "addons" file. Checked to make sure my GB was significantly changed and was very please as everything was perfect and had almost 67GB free that could have been more but did do a blooper before downloading my game. I wanted my browser to be Google, when downloaded this application process ate up around 30gb so shall at some point need do another factory reset because Microsoft Edge and Chrome seem to be having some kind of Browser war and when downloader per Chrome consumed large amount of my memory per its APP uninstall did not replenish it back nor empty the recycle bin, as well whatever was going on was blocking me from loading to the internet for a spell though 5G fast speed so I had to reduce to 2GB for short time. After got through this however loaded my game and said to myself nothing shall be altered period until I know my game is secure, which is why I am watching my memory like a hawk! See my sons gift came with 225GB SSD and need to buy the SSD card upgrades, once done it will be 4T as each SSD slot allows 4GB to 2T per slot. Also can upgrade 8G ram to 64G from what I learned from Dell (yeah been all over trying to see how new gaming laptop could not support only thing I do with it and that is playing WoW) So now back to the addons, everything I had done did not end "errors" from TSM when you use their "my auction house" page to cancel sales. TSM is Just bugged and is at their end, they wanted to change their app to a monthly subscription and as well no longer have is auto sync support able to function with the auction house, so on that respect it creates it own issue trying to use much of the AH application portion of TSM Addon ... and I am suspecting wanting us to buy the addon is why the addon is behaving the way it is. I did create an account as TSM asked in chat message for me to do per "syncing" but only I was only willing to download a free help addon app, and knew it does not work then was not going to try to download it again to my factory recovered drive (as said totally watching my memory) That free help app of TSM doesn't work with Grob even though they claim it will because Grob didn't make the list thence can't be selected, one of the highest occupied servers and unbelievable but we can't select it on the list. So moving on, I did write to TSM about "errors" and cause and it is their loss and my gain as I do not have to rely on their addon any longer as from all the headache I now have the awesome Auctioneer back online after all of this and learning more about how curse is now separating "addon" download option links (classics and LK is now to right of the retail addon and to get to the link you much tap the square button next to it for the "classics or classics era addon to download versus the retail version). So back to current issue per memory and game functionability, I am not sure which one of the addons it is, is interfering with my mail, (Auctioner, Aucionator, TSD, TSM, or Postal) I am lmao actually as now I can't turn TSM off if I want to see my mail as I have to use TSM or wait about 3 to 5 minutes so I can visually see my mail in the original WoW tab. I tried going into setting and removing things I am not interested in and think the issue with the "mail" started because I turned off Beancounter but not positive because turning it off opened large ball of worms. Beancounter is part of Auctioneer program but not needed so it can be removed. However if I leave Beancounter on my mail turns greyish in color and as said I do not need it or function is provides, I have a brain and I will set prices to suit me not some addon as well Auctionator and other addons have spread sheets that can tell me what I sold or simply canceled. I also removed "swatter" because blizzard filed error argument that is was none compatible and would not stop spamming this on any character I logged into or even while playing (It was first addon I physically removed from the WoW addon interface program section itself so it is not turned off, it is gone where Beancounter is just turned off). It is not needed to use Auctioneer so it was easy resolve on 10/28/2022. Mail sadly just I can't figure it out, Auctionator did just add some kind of mail addon but it does not provide form to disengage it. As well it as of late last night started putting some crazy overlay into the regular mail tab making me have to link to TSM and back then to send then back to make it fade and or removed itself? So so want to figure out what is interfering with the main mailing tab supplied by the game as nothing should be altered it in such as way that it is overlaying and merging multiple slots up and down and left and right at once with lot of strange key options into that tab.... none of these overlays match the TSM page, however some match oddly the mail portion of the tab which has me concerned as do not want my things being lost or sent to someone without my consent. There is also overlay on the front wows original tab inside the auction house where we hit arrow keys to choose how we want to see things which I truly want to remove as that one is setup for TSD auctioneer addon. TSD addon which by the way prevents TSM from altering what appears on this tab if you have that addon. I personally am suspicious that is it possibly the new Auctionator because Auctioneer allows to a choice to have any overlays on that tab or not so if it is Auctioneer then something is broke in their options setup. However I think I will try what one suggested to play with the addons to see who is causing what again, did try that other day but was not figuring it out. Per errors, I need TSM for some things, especially mail, until mail bug can be figured out. So per "errors" I simply do not use TSM for canceling any longer because of the bug however do try it once in awhile to see if its still bugged. As well I see all addons at various time doing different performances when loading "have errors" which requires you to redo the process of whatever didn't get loaded of the original load. So now question if where did those error messages go after being sent to me in-game? Did they store inside the cache of the game system of the WTF file? I want to know because we are allowed to delete those and the game system will simply when logging on create a new cache file. So if this is the case then to get back my "vanished" and "stolen" memory I only need to hit delete on the file that these errors where stored at least once every day or so but first need an answer. Do you know which files it would be? Is there a "special file" that is hidden and not inside the WoW file itself? I am asking because reason I did a complete reset is something stole almost 100 GB from my computer and was why I had to reset the gaming brand new by the way laptop. And that something is "doing it again" even while I am sleeping. I did leave my World of Warcraft open, I normally leave it open so I can watch the AH and drift off to sleep.... is it the AH doing this is guess my question an how do I remove whatever it stored that was not actually part of the physical game nor effects my game by "removing" .... sincerely Sparkles (playing on Grob in LK Classics at the moment and this is where I am noticing these major issues) (PS also want to know if when saving "profile memory" inside these addons if this is taking any memory space ...if so where it is being stored since it is not being stored within the addon?)(PS as did edit also see forgot to add that as of today "enchantrix" part of Auctioneer required to be turned off from error messages sent by WoW system during game play on 10/29/22, again do not use it so simple resolve)
