Only fight in current content where you cannot get behind the boss is Kologarn. If you have access to Tier 6 from Sunwell (PUG or whatever), you can use two of the three T6 pieces from there to improve your DPS on that fight by reducing the energy cost of Mangle.

I wouldn' call Yogg-Saron feral friendly either.
Can't get behind adds if there's cloud there
Can't get behind tentacles in visions if the skulls are badly placed
Can't get behind Yoggi in p3
Yogg is also not a tank and spank; the requirements of the fight are task-based more than DPS based, so measuring effectiveness with meters there is kind of pointless.
Technically, though, yes; I'm the person who the real tanks pass the P1 adds to in the center, so I don't notice it on those, really. I don't even bother trying to get behind tentacles in P2 -- each of the brain room players takes one tentacle and kills it, then runs to the brain to avoid the overkill when the group just circles the room. I'm more concerned with sanity loss in there than shredding. If your guild has melee on Yogg in P3, you sure can get behind him.

hey, i am about to level up a feral kitty, since my guild needs the 5 % crit buff. but as i see it, we use shred alot and it requires to be behind the target. some fights this is impossible, what do you do then? do the most of you just dualspecc till moonkin?
Like others mentionned, dual-speccing Boomkin is an option, but you'd lose the buff that justifies your presence, so you'd have to test and see what's more efficient to your raid...: having a cat that mangles instead of shredding (only you would be doing less DPS)
or
losing the raid-wide 5% crit buff (every raid member loses some DPS)... I never compared and I guess the results would vary between different encounters and depend heavily on the raid setup, so it's one of those "see for yourself" case, imho.
Have your guild considered recruiting a feral druid instead of having you level all the way for a single buff?

something else that the post before failed to mention. while your leveling (depends if you do it solo and also what level you are) you will prolly stealth behind your target then open with a pounce or ravage, whatever floats your boat. After that first hit your gonna be facing your target, so spam mangle if your high enough level or whatever that ability is before i think its claw or something. during boss fights, dang near all of them you can get behind the boss so that will be your main damage ability. hope this helps.
Not really efficient when leveling imho. You will be faster just running straight up to the mob and mangleing it's face. All that stealth and sneaking around costs way more time then you save when killing the mob. The only reason to stealth when questing is so that you can avoid mobs and get to the target faster ...

Even then, after a pounce (from any direction) i usually have time to run behind a mob and let loose one or two moves (i can't get timing for mangle/shred yet due to 500ms latency average) anyway.
