I need an Alliance Lore expert here - or at least somebody interested in Lore more than it's healthy.
I am more than a little vague about what happened to Muridan after he was supposedly killed by Arthas. All I know is that he lost his memories (how convenient!) and was found by...somebody.
So here's your chance, people, teach me some Lore. It's not a frequent occasion for me not to know something in depth...

Also if the dialogue during
this
(see comments) quest has lead me to believe that Muradin/Yorg will play a major role in the battle with The Lich King.

TL;DR version...
When the ice surrounding Frostmourne shattered, Muradin was hit by a shard of it. He was knocked unconscious and badly injured. He then began stumbling through the tundra where he was found half-dead by an expedition of Frostborn dwarves. As the frost dwarves when to help him, a big jormungar appeared and Muradin went (supposedly) into Avatar/Mountain King form and one shotted him with a stormhammer. The frost dwarves named him "Yorg Stormheart" (Yorg is a very prestigious name in their culture) and took him home. Over the years he impressed them further and is now their king. Through an extensive questline in the Storm Peaks, he regains his memory and then leaves to an unknown destination after swearing vengeance upon Arthas.
Hope that helps, ArgentSun :)
