What do people think of atheists?

There's a difference between not believing a theory that, while solid, isn't absolutely proven (which theories that explain things can't be, but there's room for some doubt should evidence against the theory of evolution ever arise), and not believing a fact. You're an ignorant person if you don't believe evolution occurs. It occurs; its a fact.
What I find strange is that people seem to accept that gravity is a fact, but not evolution.
using the scientific meaning of the word fact
Difference here is the terminology, reading upon the link, you can see that it uses an ambiguous example for the argument of evolution.
Following the example in the link, I can say the dust in my room is evolving.
It may be a scientific fact, but it's not a fact in the sense that everyone believes in it, the fact in that terminology is that it is the absolute truth. And the evolution that you are trying to use in the example implies that dinosaurs changed into monkeys, not that something is changing in itself.
I love that this thread has a guy trying to convince people to not try to convince eachother.
No, what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't get so offended if someone disagrees, to the point of calling other people names and using profanity.
Atheists needs to be incarcerated and lit on fire. And so does this thread.
Get lost, you people are the reason why these arguments never stay civil.
Your brain is so small. That's all I'm going to say about that.
No, I got it. I just chose to ignore it. You're being a troll.
If you two want to make fun of each other, go do it somewhere else.

That's not too much of an argument considering that Einstein had a smaller than normal brain size. Considering the circumstances, I would say it's safe to assume that brain size has little effect on the thinking capabilities, rather, the efficiency of how much of the brain you use determines your capabilities.
or
It's a scientific fact that efficiency rather than size is more important.
Note how I use my wording.

He understood I was insulting his intellect. I think we can leave it at that.

And for some reason, when I say that evolution is not a fact, you can't understand that I'm not implying that evolution is not a scientific fact?

They are in no way bad, but most of them have to be wrong.
Why? Because there exists more than one religion? Is there always just one answer to a question? One solution to a problem? In the case of religion, that seems to be the case. Just look in the Bible at what god said to do to people who believed in different gods.

There's a difference between a debate and conflict, which involves flaming, from what I can see anyways.

Not all religion, mind you.
There's not much to say that Buddhism and Witchcraft can't co-exist.

There's not much to say that Buddhism and Witchcraft can't co-exist.Right, but Christianity is the dominant religion in the U.S., at least.
You should hear what some people say about non-christians down here in Texas... -_-

You don't understand, There are a lot of religions, all of them say that they are right and the others are wrong. Thus, if one is right, the others are wrong, understand my point of view now?

I really should visit Texas one of these days. All the crazy stuff seems to originate there for some reason or another.

From where I stand, same applies for science. If, for example, Christianity is correct, than evolution and big bang are wrong, if science is right, than God and Noah's ark is wrong. I don't see why you only bulk up religion in this matter.
Science versus Christianity is similar, not same, in debate as to Christianity versus Buddhism imo.

If you don't believe in evolution in the first place, then no, you wouldn't think that mankind originated from monkeys. That's like one of the previous people saying that "atheist have weak souls" it just doesn't apply to them.
Also, assuming you're correct, science, in the sense of the study of our surroundings, didn't exist to the man-apes, therefore it couldn't have helped them.
On the same basis, we can claim that religion dictated the hierarchy of the medieval and preceding eras, basically saying that without religion, society would not exist in the form it does today, it might be better, it might be worse.
Also, personally, I don't think of computers and technology as being part of "science" in this argument in the regards they are not natural or physical science.
