Wow, and I just had convinced ASHelmy not to use the word "fact" lightly.
Just because you believe it and it makes logical sense for you doesn't mean it makes sense for everyone else.
Evolution is a scientific fact, but it's not a fact in the sense that it's something that everyone believes in. There are even scientists who think that some parts of evolution, and that the theory in general doesn't add up.
For example, if gravity was proven false tomorrow and that most people didn't know about it, would
you
still call it a fact?

It's pretty clear that some things are more right than others regardless of context.
Reality isn't in your head. It will still be here when your head is gone.
In a formal proof conditions and context are everything.
Reality is that 1 + 1 = any number repeats itself an infinite number of times, 1 + 1 = 2 only occurs once, it's just that we use 1 + 1 = 2 more commonly.
I don't understand why the atheists continue the plague of "I'm right so you must be wrong." as shown by TheMediator and a couple others, you can't convince me that evolution is true (I'm just using this as an example, I don't deny or agree with evolution) and I can't convince you that creatures poofed into existence 6 thousand years ago (I'm just using this as an example, I don't deny or agree with this either).
Why do you people have to be so adamant in your pursuit to convince the disbelievers to the point of using profanity?
Can't you agree to disagree?

Check out the if there's no god thread. And people saying we poofed into existence annoy me, because most of the time they don't even try to argue their point, they just say it is because god said so.

I've kept track of that thread from page one and I don't have any specific recollection if people consistently pulling that one along, mostly, the people who use such arguments did it once or twice as a form of trolling, which I don't like.
It also doesn't mean that you guys should stoop to their level, it doesn't help you in any way other than getting the thread locked. (referring to troll-baiting and flaming)

I think people just need to come to terms with the fact that not everyone shares their beliefs, but that does not mean they are bad people or wrong in any way.
This is what I've been trying to push all throughout this thread.

I still don't see why I need to be saved, I haven't done anything wrong.
And "seeing the light" is not really a correct statement since every religion claims to be the light.
I think people just need to come to terms with the fact that not everyone shares their beliefs, but that does not mean they are bad people or wrong in any way.
They are in no way bad, but most of them have to be wrong.
Edit: And I meant check the thread because I answered your questions.

Oh, that, I saw it on the day you've posted the answers, the pork one is "unsatisfactory" but if it's in the bracket of religious commands, then who am I to question your god?
As for the extra woman one, that's still an idealistic view, but that's fine too. Then again, in true idealism, the woman wouldn't be of poor sexual service, no?
Also, if most of them have to be wrong, then there's the chance that yours can be wrong to, regardless of "mine must be right because it makes the most sense." if there are others that disagree with you, and the slight chance that you could be wrong, who are you to say that you're the right one to them?
Also, even if you're right, what gives you the right to push off their religious beliefs by saying that your way is the absolute way and get angry when they don't agree with you?

There's a chance that I am wrong, I just don't think it's big enough to risk going to hell for it. And I don't get angry when people disagree with me, I get angry when they insult me or my religion.

There's a difference between not believing a theory that, while solid, isn't absolutely proven (which theories that explain things can't be, but there's room for some doubt should evidence against the theory of evolution ever arise), and not believing a fact. You're an ignorant person if you don't believe evolution occurs. It occurs; its a fact.
What I find strange is that people seem to accept that gravity is a fact, but not evolution.

Really the only point where I avidly disagree with ASH is his defensiveness. I think he gives credibility to those who criticize his beliefs by fighting with them. I say they aren't worth the steam. Don't let them think they are by giving them the fight.

He's not an ignorant #$%^&*, so he's actually reading and considering the arguments.

No, I got it. I just chose to ignore it. You're being a troll.
