Blue posts make you wiser...
Green posts make you small...
But the white posts-
they don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice.
Feed your head.

There's also the common saying about loving the man and hating the sin, you don't have to love what a person does in order to love that person. I'm sure you love your parents but I'm certain that you don't love the fact that they have to take a dump every day to get rid of biological wastes.
I don't know anyone that loves the fact another person takes a dump.
Are you implying that taking a poo is a sin?

But ahead and pick me apart MyTie.
Can I just put you on auto attack?
Seriously, I just made this thread for the good reading it provides me, not the opportunity to pounce.

I think a man can get more then one wife if he really has good reasons, like if he helping the other woman and wants to take good care of her, I doubt it's just "he wants more than one wife, so he gets a new one!".
That's your opinion and morals against mine. You asked what I don't like about Islamic morals, this is what I don't like.
For all intentions the man can provide for the woman for her entire life without having a relationship on a personal level.
This is dodging the question. All this says is "I choose the best choice." How do you know which choice is best?
I try my best not to dodge the question, so I apologise if that's what it appeared to be. You choose the best choice on what you know and what you predict will be the best solution, this includes advice form others, personal experience and what you believe to be correct.
Or you say it in another way, you inherently decide what the best decisions are given your choices and time constraints.

D:
No, what I'm trying to say is that loving a person and their actions are two different things, I wanted to use a common example that everyone can relate to.

Telling someone that their religion is wrong is intolerant as far as I know. I've said this before, but when I go to my Christian friend's houses I don't start taking down their crosses from their walls. My best friends is deeply Christian, we've disussed it and we've come to the understanding that eachother's beliefs do not put us in a negative context whatsoever. When her Bible failed her, she was able to look beyond it and define what she believed was right, and was still able to embrace God.
Also, I don't see how telling someone that their beliefs and lifestyles had been wrong because they were not what you grew up with can possibly
not
be disrespectful.
The trouble here is that the act of telling someone you disagree with their religious beliefs has gotten mixed up with a lot of other unrelated—and highly intolerant—things, in your head.
I am a Christian. If you're not a Christian, I think you're wrong.
I don't bring it up unless I am invited to discuss it. I certainly don't start hanging crosses on stranger's walls. I don't believe that NOT being a Christian puts someone in a negative context. I recognize that everyone's beliefs are influenced by their upbringing. I still disagree with everyone who is not a Christian.
It's not the disagreeing itself that is intolerant. It's the accompanying belief—which surfaces altogether too often among my fellow Christians—that the fact that I am Christian and you are not somehow makes me
better
than you. THAT is intolerant, and it's totally unacceptable to me.

"I disagree with your religion." != "Your religion is wrong."

Catholic or Presbyterian or another branch?
Also, do you complain about the other branches?

You can't really deem something Islam says wrong unless you read it and the reasons it is said to be wrong, I am sure that if I were to research is further, I would find more reasons. Islam has been right on many, many counts that I am willing to believe anything it says, even if there's insufficient data (by which I mean that the data is there, I just can't see it at the time being), That is why religion is good, it saves us the trouble of thinking about pointless things and allows us to move on to more important things.

And that was what I was discussing with ASHelmy. Did he not make an example about a bike an a corvette, and how the ferrari was just inherently better without him having to explain it? (Or something along those lines)
I was going to draw a comparison to a Honda and a Toyota—but that doesn't work either because it's ultimately a matter of opinion which car you prefer. They're both viable choices.
The difference is that Islam and Christianity (for example) can't both be right—one or the other has to be wrong. They can't both be "viable choices" in the same way. It's possible for you to think one is right, or the other is right, or some parts of each, or neither—but you can't just say "they're both perfectly good options, whichever floats your boat."

He just knew it was, and he said he was justified by the fact that his religion said all other religions were wrong. Too bad that outside the confines of his religion the Bible doesn't mean squat.
I just thought everyone would be smart enough to realize tha ta car is most of the time better than a bike, It was a bad analogy, sorry. And do you just skim over posts to find things you don't like :D? I have already said I am Muslim :D.

You can't really deem something Islam says wrong unless you read it and the reasons it is said to be wrong
Precisely the reason I told you to correct me if I'm wrong, I should not have to do my own research for you to say that my morals are wrong. My morals are my opinions, they are not wrong because simply due to the fact they are my opinions and not facts.
I am sure that if I were to research is further, I would find more reasons. Islam has been right on many, many counts that I am willing to believe anything it says, even if there's insufficient data (by which I mean that the data is there, I just can't see it at the time being)
Go do your research to back yourself on instead of saying "it must exist somewhere and it can't be wrong."
That is why religion is good, it saves us the trouble of thinking about pointless things and allows us to move on to more important things.
This is what we call "blind faith."
I may be religious but I do all my research, this is what I don't like about these arguments, that there are people who go about bluntly saying stuff they can't back themselves upon.

I was going to do that, I just have no means available at the moment, Whenever I hear something like that, I do my research, but like I said, I have no means available atm. And don't ignore the rest of my post.
@ivokk, np :D.
