1. I just finished using Recruit a friend to level a rogue to 60, And I'm dying like no tomorrow out in outlands, I can barely quest solo without dying every time i try to kill something.

2. I have a twink rogue at 60 (Recruit a friend as mentioned before)
What would be a good spec?

Combats probably the easiest spec to get your head round.
I'm suprised you're having trouble in outland, generally open with a stun and use the combo points for evis or another stun?
Armory is down at the moment so I can't check gear but so long as you are picking up the right stats and using the right weapons I can't see why you'd have much serious trouble.
Check you gear (do you still have some old pre lvl 40 gear that you havent got around to changing yet?)
Check your spec (theres plenty of good talent guides around).
Check your weapons/chants/gems.
Your main stat should probably be Agility then crit, AP and hit. Without really knowing how long you've played etc i'm not really sure what level of advice you need so sorry if any of that is patronising or confusing

The difference between vanilla and TBC items IS generally LOTS of stamina. Having lvl 20 items will be a serious drain on stats available. You will replace much of your gear fairly quickly but some of the better upgrades are in the "soloable in decent gear" kinda range.
It might be worth blowing 150g or so on some better bits. Try and get a few "of the bandit" pieces as these have the best itemisation for common ("green") type gear where rogues are concerned.
Don't go mad though, bring everything over "requires level 50" kinda thing and you will do ok.
A couple of the BoA items are decent but don't really cover all the slots (cept maybe as a mutilate rogue). For combat MH Venerable Dal'Rend's Sacred Charge and off-hand the kris id think. A decent off-hand sword and replace it as you go might be good.
Rogue weaponary should be:
Combat:
2.4 or slower sword/fist/mace in mainhand
1.6 or faster sword/fist/mace/dagger in off-hand
Mutilate:
1.6 or slower dagger MH (the MH speed isn't so important stats>speed)
1.6 or faster dagger OH

Sure, but it's not necessarily the best leveling spec. Leveling Mutilate makes much more sense since it's a far more efficient CP generator than SS.
See if you can get some daggers and use
this spec
for where you're at right now (lvl 61). Use Wound Poison on both weapons, since it procs more often than IP does, and basically guarantees the extra damage on Mutilate. My suggestion on killing-sequence (it's not a rotation, since you probably won't have to repeat much)
Cheap Shot -> Mutilate -> Wait for CS to run out -> Kidney Shot -> Mutilate -> Mutilate -> Evic
The downside of running as Mutilate is that your multi-target damage is the pits, and there's not much you can do about it. Preparing the start of a fight makes much more of a difference (distract, sap, etc). The biggest difference between Combat and Mutilate is that Mut is not spec where you just "spam button 1! zomg!" endlessly.
It might be worth waiting until you finish some more quests with Dagger rewards before switching specs. Decent daggers from old-world Azeroth are somewhat limited. When you get to lvl 65, get yourself a pair of
Adamantite Daggers
crafted. The big slow speeds and hit rating will definitely help speed up your leveling.

It lacks aoe efficiency and pales in terms of longevity compared to combat. The only thing going for mutilate leveling is that it's fun.

I did mention that the multi-mob capabilities of Mut are worse than combat, but I'd argue that it fares better for short, single-target fights.
Your point about longevity (I'm assuming you're talking about survivability) is very true. Combat gets a free 12% avoidance when done as a leveling spec (Riposte is a fantastic leveling ability).
If I were to go back and level as combat (which you could do with those swords), I'd probably use a spec like
this one
. Your main problem at the moment is your gear.
Bristlebark Boots
,
Fenrus' Hide
, and
Branded Leather Bracers
are all very low level items to be using when starting out in OL.

I still don't see this, the AoE, yes, I agree sucks as Mutilate. However, longevity? I was still using the same stack of food from when I hit 60 when I dinged 80. As mutilate (soloing): Stealth -> CS -> Mut -> SnD -> Mut -> Mut -> KS
And that was it, mobs were often dead before I even got to Kidney Shot them, and they never hit me, so yeah... longevity ftw?
