Hi guys, My guild and I tried to do Thorim yesterday, but our result was cathastrophic, we wiped for 4h.
We choose to divided the groups in 3 corridor and 7 in Arena, I was in the arena group. My guildies were complaining that I died too many times in the arena cause of my Aggro, cause I was doing too many AoE. The thing is I wasnt using my AoE abilities at all. When I died, I died one shooted when the new swarms of adds jumped into the arena, is this normal?
I have a Question regarding the threat mechanics in this fight. When the new adds spaw, do they choose to attack the target closest to them or the one with most threat?
Thanks
P.S Im Arcane Specc

Basic threat mechanics: When a mob initially spawns, it has no threat on anything.
Basic threat mechanics: When a player comes into a mob's detection range, it will attack that player. Also known as facepulling.
Basic threat mechanics: If a mob spawns and multiple players are within its detection range, it will attack the nearest player.
Sounds to me like either you weren't standing in the middle of the arena so the tanks could pick up the mobs before they got to you, or you were attacking before the tanks could establish threat. When the adds come over the edge, their aggro table is empty - just like any other pack of mobs in an instance.

me and my guild had about 6 wipes on this i think in all. too time to get the right balance between corridor team and arena tems. we did a 4:5 split (corr:arena)
for dps it is best to hold back for a few seconds before opening up to avoid threat pulling. the non-elites arent too bad if you pull threat but even so having a dozen of them on you isnt fun.
it is a damn fun fight in all, intense but fun
