To be fair, if you have 24 people screaming at
you
to click the cube then you probably havent clicked it when you should.
Well, not at me personally, but 24 people screaming Click!111! is kinda insulting to my observational skills.
People are tight on gear/stats/etc, because they like to min/max. That doesn't mean they do it out of necessity. My guild was clearing 25 naxx, maly, and sarth 3d in about 4 hours. Yep, all that content in one night. Hard stuff dude.
Now if we opted to bring along a bunch of knuckledraggers that can't spot a voidzone on the ground, or hit 4 buttons at the right time. Yeah. It would seem impossible.
Vent enables people to communicate rapidly. No it isn't absolutely necessary, but if you don't want to waste time - you use it.
If your raid has 24 people screaming, "Click" then you've got a fail raid leader. Take control of the raid for goodness sake. And yes, if that many people are in panic mode, then someone isn't doing his job.
You prove my point.
People dont want a challenge. They want it easy. Even the "hardcore".
Unfortunately, the transition to raiding is not intuitive, getting to level 80 and normal instances are doable in pretty much any spec, and there is no real indication that that just isnt feasible for raiding.

funny. You claim people who are "elitists" have no life and that casuals are the one's enjoying their families, going outside, etc etc.
The truth is, back before Ulduar was released, my guild cleared Naxx 25, Maly, and Sarth 3d by Thursday. I therefore had 4 days to go do "RL" things, while your crappy casual guild spends a few hours a night wiping and trying to do Naxx.
hmm
1. Armoury or GTFO
2. Casuals spend maybe 3 nights a week raiding, definately no more, normally less.
3. Maybe you did it in 2 days, but how long did you spend getting to that point? Or are you a guild hopper?

The only way anything can be important is if someone believes that it is important. More specifically, certain things are more, less, or not important to certain people than others. Some people consider clearing through every raid the first week it comes out and getting completely geared important. Others think that it is more important just to simply test their skills against raid bosses. It seems rather inconsiderate to be telling other people that something is more/less important. It is just a game, but it is considered important by many people. Some people consider WoW the most important thing in their life, while other people consider it just a way to kill time.
That being said, raids are all about groups of people. Everyone works together to achieve their personal goals. It works out a lot better if all of the raiders share the same or almost the same personal goals. This is one of the main reasons why organized guilds tend to be a lot more fun for many people than PUGs. Not everyone raids like you, but there will usually be people who do. To have a successful raid (and I don't necessarily mean clearing the raid), you need to be in a group of people who feel the same way that you do towards raiding.

Games are about having fun and relaxing (I don't play WoW to be stressed).
Not about progress, achievement and completion
- they are just statistics and numbers inside a computer.
You should definitely speak for yourself. A TON of people have fun by progressing, doing achievements, and completing certain encounters in the game. I would guess-timate the majority of people fall into this category.
Then again there are also groups of people who like to epicly wipe in instances & raids all day long and consider that fun. They love Leerooy Jenkin's type strategies, etc that lead to large repair bills and hours of res'ing people. If you fall under that category, you should definitely find an "Epic Fail" type guild to join and run with. Chances are though that you won't find too many members.
