If your nervous about being blamed in raids, just roll fury dps. Sure people will blame the dps sometimes but it will usually be blanket statements like "our dps is too low, or our dps sucks" which points to alot of people (plus, if your guild makes it a point to single you out, i'd just find a new guild).
Otherwise, if you want to go pvp, roll arms. My friend has a pvp arms spec and a pve fury spec, and i can easily, and i mean EASILY 1v1 his fury spec despite being in naxx25 gear with BoH and jawbone, whereas his arm spec with MS makes me cry (note: I pvp as resto druid and hes my 2s partner).

What you are actually saying here is that he should find a bad guild without progress where everyone do no dps because noone pin points the failures and stay there without improving his own playstyle, rather than enter a good organized guild with skilled players who will tell him what he does wrong and what he should do to improve...
Is fear of being accused of failure is so great in you?

Better to have fun then to stress out about it, which he seems to be doing.
PS. I'm a resto druid, and we healers get blamed for anything that goes wrong, so no, I'm not afraid of being accused of failure :)
