Alright, so, I finally started my literary blog - a blog where I'll be posting the random bits of fiction I write. As of now, I've put up the first two chapters of a novel I'm currently working on. It's not yet revised but, uh, it would mean a lot to me if some of you would read it and tell me what you think.

It's not bad. This is probably intended as there hasn't been much room for character development yet, but I don't really dislike the tyrant yet. I expect you'll do this later in the story by showing us some horrible thing he does from both his perspective and the soldiers. Or something. :P. Also, there has been almost no setting development at all. I don't know if you plan on giving that info soon, but atm the only thing you can really deduct from is the rebels having to use swords and maces, and lanterns.
It seems like a very good start though.

(I haven't written it yet - I know what will happen, but I don't know what chapter it will be). I don't feel the need to specifically develop the setting - I'll just sort of let that happen as they move around./palm That's a bad way to do it; your setting is just as important as the characters and the way the story evolves; after all, without the setting, they would just be floating in nothing.

TBH, I agree with this. If you don't know about the setting, it's hard to imagine the characters doing anything if you just have a small glimpse of the entire setting.
