No, I don't have a phone that I'd need to get one and the actual ones are extremely hard to get, if I remember correctly.

Nah they just take a bit of time. Also I suggest running scans and stuff on your computer whilst you wait for your account to be fixed.

I ordered mine and it came a week later. 8-11 day shipping time IIRC and they're only 6 bucks or so.

What a horrible article. All I got is that it is a device that helps protect wow, and costs about 8 dollars. How does it work? Do I need cell phone reception? Do I need USB ports? Will I need spare batteries? Does it matter that I'm on a dial up connection? Will it need its own phone line? Does it work with older versions of windows (if it does plug into USB)?
That little article was just MoD whineing that he lost his authenticator. It told me virtually nothing, other than what I already gathered (it authenticates you for your WoW account).
You guys really need to step up the blogs.

It's a device that you link to your battle.net account. When you log in, the game prompts you for a 6 digit code that the thing generates when you attempt to log in. It's basically a second self-changing password.

I used to use one. You attach it to your account and when you log on to wow it prompts you to enter the code it generates. You don't need any reception, the connection doesn't matter, no usb ports. Just a lil thing on a keychain. And what Recon said.

It does this without connecting to an outside source? You punch in a battlenet prompted code and it gives you the response code that is preprogramed?
You push a little button on a keychain, a 6 digit number pops up, you type that number in the box it tells you to. I don't know how it communicates but it generates a code from anywhere, internet or not. I don't know if it's preprogrammed or what, but it changes every 30 seconds.
