"If I think I’m a bastard, shouldn’t I just live like one? A key question I think. Proof too, that my thoughts and actions are distinct." So asked one of the great bloggers-who-thinks-they're-philosphers of our time. Does one merely act the bastard because he thinks he is one, or perhaps is 'bastardhood' something which can only be explained via some extrinsic, non-determined first principle? And if it truly is the later, does it have any connection to the
Paladin
of which you speak?
It is inherently obvious that the first principle of non-self-moving, autonomous non-thought is not
Paladin
. It is also self-evident that
Paladin
is not non-being. From those two principles we can derive an assurance that
Paladin
exists at least in the mind.
To say that
Paladin
is the first principle of 'bastardness' based on merely the aforementioned principle is a fallacy in two ways: a
post hoc ergo propter hoc
fallacy and a texas sharpshooter fallacy.
So what
can
we say about
Paladin
? Well, nothing, because in fact we are all bastards who don't really give a *!@# about anything except ourselves. QED
Yes, I have had a stressful day.
thread I was going to put this in got locked :(

For 3 months now, a new engineer has been in charge of my project. He has made decisions which I have strongly advised against. No matter how urgent my recommendations are, he ignores them, and gives me labor jobs to do (sweep the floor). After that 3 months of catastrophically bad decisions, the project is now being tested, at this very moment. It is failing... horribly, in every area I said it would. I was right. The dude with the 4 year degree in mechanical engineering was wrong. What's best, is I know how to fix the problems, quickly, and put the project back on track. I could redeem the entire thing in 24 hours of work. But I won't. He knows I know how to fix it. He knows he has no idea how to fix it. But this project, has HIS name on it. He will go down as the failure. I don't want my name on it. I'll just be the guy who quietly swept the floor.
