This guide is very awesome. And have too say... Leveling this way is very neat and just the looks that they are already dead before even touching you is more then pleasing. Previously did Enhancement, but using Elemental is something refreshing and awesome^^.

Guys, slightly off topic, but does anyone know of any updated Ele PvP guides? I have found a couple over the net but they all seem to be outdated.

I'd like to drop my thoughts on elemental leveling as well. Since I'm an AOE freak I've chosen a different build and some different glyphs as well. Please note that my build is incomplete atm (only level 72) so taking it as I go.
First off I added fire nova into my rotation which is in my personal opinion an awesome spell. I easy top 1,4 k in instance using that spell. To improve my dps further more I'm also using the fire nova glyph (and as you can see I specced in it aswell) which results in a fire nova cd of only 3 sec... so basically I use fire nova, chain lighting, and thunderstorm (when available) when ever I have a gap or some time off I throw in a flame shock.
For those that are interested. This is a link to my build so far. I'm a very happy elemental shaman with it .

Being Level 80 now, I'm kinda torn between keeping fire nova for heroics aoe dps (we all know hc's these days are no longer bout tacts but just burn down loads of trash down really fast) or going for a more pure raid spec. Im so used to the fire nova but I can see the utility drop for raids. I do stick to my advice for leveling though it is very good to kill large packs really fast and a relative mana efficient spell (I always kept watershield up and had near to zero downtime). For people that like numbers I've seen burst damage upto 4K dps when you combine thunderstorm firenova and chainlighting. take into account i'm currently only blue/green geared.
And wanna add a big thanks for this guide cause it did help me a lot to get through the early elemental levels although people kept calling me nuts for doing it. My advice is go elemental it might be a bit harder at the start but it really pays off in the end!

Just a bit of a note on the folks who were mentioning how hard it is to gear Elemental pre-60... with the addition of the new LFG system, it's easier than ever before.
Getting into cross-realm pugs is pretty quick (especially with a dual-spec resto set, or even healing in Ele), you can get some pretty great dungeon drops for your Ele set, along with the "satchel" you get for doing randoms, which includes a blue item tailored to your class/approximate level.
This means that without much trouble you can load yourself up with some nice Mail blues and get some decent XP along the way. So if you're worried about not being able to gear easily, just hop into LFG.

Not entirely true. While it's called the "Satchel of Helpful Goods", they're not always helpful. On my priest for example, every neckpiece I've received has been for tanks. And on my hunter I've received several pieces with spellpower on it. It's entirely random.

Also, satchels stop being a reward at level 68 or 69, instead getting replaced by Emblems of Triumph.

Talent builds have been updated for 3.3.3. The entire guide will get a big update once Cataclysm has been out for a while.
Changing the topic-name will be a good idea as well, just so that it doesn't seem outdated.
Glad to hear, never the less.

I leveled a draenei shaman before as enhancement, but now I'm going to try leveling my orc shaman as elemental as I want to be able to heal dungeons as well as do quests, and speccing as elemental will be easier as I'll only have to have one set of gear.

Quick question if you will.
Are you able to heal effectively pre-60 as elemental? I like the LFG option but sometimes I am waiting 20-30 mins as resto. Can I level ele and still have the option of healing thru LFG?
