Surprised that this thread isn't locked yet, though it was quite interesting to read through. Like TheStatusQueue, I would roll on the trinket as well while playing my DK, since at 80 he's going to be tank spec.
But in PuGs a Frost DK and just as easily switch to a DPS role, and several times I have been berated by party members for taking tank gear when I wasn't tanking. Only took a quick inspect on their part to silence the QQ.
To the OP: As a contributing member of the party, the DK that beat you on the roll was equally entitled to the loot. Maybe he wanted to respec and tank later? I see that trinket as a nice tool for grinding and dailies, or anything else that involves your character getting hit a lot (maybe even pvp?).
To TheStatusQueue: I tip my hat to you, sir, for being one of the few intelligent individuals on this site.

Gonna try and stay out of the fight but want to say I agree with the OP although I wouldn't really call it a ninja, more like a waste.
It's better that a tank gets a tanking trinket over a plate wearing dpser who would never equip that trinket unless he absolutely had to. The guy was specced blood because he wanted to dps, he did so in the instance and his rolls should be limited to dps gear really. It would be like a tank rolling on a nice dps plate piece and saying "just incase I want to respec dps"... Ya he could but he'd be a bit of an ass for it. Better yet, way back in vanilla wow priests were absolutely barred from ever evening thinking about rolling on a shadow dmg piece over a lock.
I play a DK tank and rerolled from a warrior tank, I like tanking it's fun but I have to say it's a real bitch when some fury/arms war or another DK rolls on #$%^ they will probably never equip (or maybe equip once or twice) over me who would wear and use it a lot more often.
And to the guy who said DK tanks were the worst of the tanking classes i feel bad for you, you've obviously never grouped with a DK (or a capable one that is).
In any case, it's not worth making a fuss over it. That's the way pugging goes and it's a good reason why there are so few tanks willing to put up with ^&*! like this.

That sucks it does. If your a DK that is great for tanking if your a pally or a warrior get something with block. Things happen.
Stamina > Block for survival.
Also, there's only 1 block
trinket
... Sad really...

That's cute; yes, I'm an American. However, I am not your average, idiotic, McDonald's-food eating American. I don't believe in the same things that Americans believe in. I see things differently. I am not an ignorant kid who doesn't know how to play his class.
Don't group all Americans together.
WTF are you talking about...dont believe in the things that Americans believe in....So your calling Americans Ignorent because we cannot play wow? omg...u ppl are pathetic...this entire thread started from a stupid trinket... Lolz and /wiggles
