Anyone else hate the Scourge Invasion?

I can appreciate the thinking behind it and it was fun for the first day turning into a zombie and making havoc...
But trying to make a bit of gold doing quests/farming, queue for battlegrounds, or get achievement points, is becoming impossible, i.e. all the npcs i need to talk to even the flightmasters, are zombies and I am getting ganked by members of my own faction.
I've had a go at some of the plaguelands quests just to have something to do, seeing as everything else i want to do is impossible, but i feel like i have no sense of purpose at the moment. Why aren't there daily quests of 'bring me the heads of 100 zombies'? - I am having to kill them anyway just to survive so it would be nice to get some gold/honor points/scourgestones or something else for my efforts.
Some of my guildies are saying they will stop playing the game until the expansion, as they can't do battlegrounds or daily quests that they need to do without getting killed every five minutes.
And don't tell me to side with the zombies cos that doesn't interest me... it was fun yes but only for like the first couple of times it happened. Now it is just griefing your own faction.

As I am leveling a char atm, i HATE this... I want to use my time killing and not be killed...
It messes up every quest-hub or city, which is annoying while leveling...

All this garbage event does is turn PvE servers into PvP servers - only worse since the random ganking by high-level players can happen anywhere and anytime, not just in the level 20+ areas, and you have far too many a****les delighting in killing NPCs of their own faction for the sake of disrupting the play of the rest of us.

It's an event, won't last forever. It adds a lot to the feel of the Scourge invading and you having to head to Northrend.
Be happy you can experience it, I can't since my computer is getting fixed and all I have now is a crappy laptop, so all I can do is read about it. Just try to immerse yourself in the game even if it can be annoying. Get infected, explode a few times.. it's all fun. :P
...
...I think the point Tamarind was trying to make is that it's not fun. It's no longer fun. I promise you, going through it is different than reading about it. I know some people who aren't playing until the expansion comes out, and some people who just stopped playing entirely.
I appreciate the lore. I do. I play as a paladin, and even before this event, I liked to go into the "Blessed be the Light" thing when playing. If a quest involved demons or the undead, then I would do it. It's my business, and all.
The problem is that players can effect NPCs. Imagine going into a town and not being able to use the bank. Or the auction house. Or PVP. Yes, this has happened.
Imagine trying to quest in Sentinel Hill or the Crossroads, and being unable to do so at level 15, because there are (literally) dozens of zombies that kill you as soon as you land. And they are at least - at least - level 40. Imagine wanting to leave, but the flightmaster is dead. Imagine trying to leave on foot, but being outrun by zombies.
Now imagine you're playing as a class that can't cure diseases, and you don't want to turn into a zombie. But a zombie just explodes right next to you, infecting you.
From what I've gathered, people don't seem to mind the event itself. The way it was executed, however, makes it too easy to disrupt the gameplay of other people. I'm sure we wouldn't be having discussions like this if you NPCs weren't effected, or if you had to flag yourself for zombie PVP, somehow. But as is? Even walking into a capital city on a PVE server, you can get killed for no reason.
It's disruptive, to say the least.
And it's certainly not fun if you're trying to level.
I don't mean to sound like I'm coming down on you, specifically. But I promise you after trying to quest and being unable to do so a few times?
It gets real old, real fast.

I see where you're coming from and I can't really judge how it is in-game since I haven't played. I respect your opinion and agree with you, but I just think the whole NPCs being zombies and stuff pulls you from the normal gameplay flow and really places you in a position where you feel this must be stopped as soon as possible - which is where the whole event is leading to. :)
Oh, it's neat. Those old one-time-only bosses from the Scourge event? Back in instances. Floating citadels outside of cities, Scourge NPCs suddenly appearing in town. Quests for the long forgotten Argent Dawn. New bosses. And the old school
Arcanite Reaper
gets a
makeover
that allows for, among other things, a totally boss solo.
I like the whole idea behind the event. It fits with the lore, and there's plenty of opportunities to have fun.
...
...problem is that there are still going to be people who think it's funny to disrupt the gameplay of other people. I think the term is "griefing"? The way the infection is being handled just makes it too easy to do that. What would be nice - as a bare bones kind of thing - is if they put Argent Healers in every town, near key NPCs...like quest givers. Or put in some kind of Argent Avenger, NPCs that specifically attack anyone zombie that comes into town. Something to give people a chance.
Because, really, the
Southshore crier
ain't gonna cut it.
I think most people probably appreciate an option to have a break from the norm. That's one reason people like the seasonal events. But if the break from the norm changes gameplay to the point where things are being negatively effected and you have no control over that, well...
"New Seasonal Event!
April 1 - 15
Tax Time!
In order to finance the ongoing war effort against the Lich King, as well as the continued threats from the Horde/Alliance, the people of Stormwind/Ogrimmar will be asked to donate a portion of their loot to the government, to keep things going! Here's what to expect:
All enemy mobs will have a 40% reduction in the amount of wealth looted from them. Players will be made aware of this, as when looting a mob with 10 silver, players will get 6.
Every day, 10% of the gold in your inventory will be removed. Attempts to circumvent this (such as by mailing gold to alts) will be viewed as tax fraud. All assets will be frozen, and players will not be able to accumulate extra gold or access any gold in mail while their accounts are audited. This include auction sales.
Boss mobs are no longer guaranteed to have superior - or any - drops. After the boss is felled, a Stormwind/Ogrimmar tax collector will loot the boss first.
To compensate, all vendors will increase their prices by 30%.
...yeah.
Y'know?

OP-
Nope. It's a once in a life-time thing. Enjoy while it lasts and sets the scene for payback on Northrend.

Except there is NOTHING to enjoy about it if you have limited playing time and are trying to level an character for Wraith. By far the most annoying aspect is that now the Blizz devs show the same lack of respect for the playing time of the people that pay for this game as the spoiled 12 year olds who delight in interfering with the play of others.
As someone who has been looking forward to the expansion, and would willingly contribute to the defense of my faction on my main as I did in the first invasion pre-BC, I'm very close to canceling my account.
I don't give 2 sh*ts for the roll out for Wraith, I care about preparing MY CHARACTERS to be ready on 11/13. It virtually impossible to quest. With the player zombies in shat immune to attack its impossible to defend yourself and now these "funny" idiots managed to kill or otherwise remove some of the healers. What might have been an amusing event to remember has already gone on far to long.

I think people need to lighten up, it's a event for a small time. So what if you get infected a few times, no biggie, just as a healer to remove disease, or erupt when you become a zombie.

Sure, explode... and run through most of the city you were in from the graveyard a mile away (worst part of SW) at lame ghost speed, only to die again a minute later and be unable to do anything because the smartasses killed your questgiver/trainer/whatever. Not good. It would be ok if it only happened a few times but if you're unlucky and the griefers come after you, you can easily get it about 100 times a day if you are too stubborn to quit playing. Personally I've managed to avoid most of it but I can totally agree with the op - heck, half of the player base.

I've already stopped playing lol. Hated the Invasion <_< Can't do anything. I'm waiting for Nov 13th, then I can actually do something with my Char's.
