The "dont roll on a PvP server" is a non solution because....
...because I had no real choice when the other (PvE) servers are so low in population that you can't gather up enough people to do the PvE content.
To be specific, this is among the Latin American servers. All my friends (and the one who tossed me the Scroll of Resurrection) are all on a PvP server because of the above reason.
I hate PvP in just about all its forms. It's a shame and I really wish there were some way around it but there isn't. I would move to a PvE server but then that would imply losing the primary reason I even started playing again (to keep in touch with friends I don't get to see often anymore).

The "dont roll on a PvP server" is a non solution because it does not account for the fact that some carebears like myself actually enjoy PvP. I love to get into fights with people near my same level
If you like PvP against players your own level, join a BG, problem solved.
Because BGs and world PvP are totally the same thing.

No they aren't "totally" the same.

What I was trying to say is that "Go and do a BG" isn't a valid response to people complaining about being camped. There's some people who love world PvP and hate being camped while leveling.

I think the bottom line is, yes, most of us acknowledge that anyone that sits and camps corpse of other players for fun is a jerk and should pick fights with people on their own level. Fact of the matter is there are always going to be those people like that and you cant really do anything about it. If you can just deal with it until you finish leveling, great. But if it seriously bothers you so much that you cant tolerate it, what else are you going to do? I think making separate servers for that was Bliz's solution to the problem and I don't see them looking into installing a punishment for it.
Personally I also don't see a reason to create a punishment for it. Part of the reason I like PVP servers is for realism of it. I like the feeling that comes with always being on the watch for enemy players in the contested zones cause anything can happen. Knowing you have all these little safety nets to impede that ruins that.
You just gotta pick the lesser of the two evils for you. For some getting their PVP in BGs on a PVE server may be the better option. Or just choose to play a stealth class so you have more control over it.

I'm surprised this even still happens. Last time I dealt with this was like 5 years ago leveling my initial toon.

I can't be bothered to read the last 131 posts for an answer, so I'd like to ask:
Why exactly is it any fun to kill something so weak that it cannot fight back?
Is it more fun to kill an innocent bunny, rather than boasting about killing a bear bare-handed?
Is it to enlarge your e-peen? Show your absolute dominance?
I have no idea why people would do this.
Granted, I camp the @#$% out of low level rogues that camp quest npc's, until they leave.
But that is pure revenge for pissing off a multitude of players and needlessly making new players feel like "Oh not this #$%^ again".
Isn't it much more fun to challenge something so hard, that it's an absolute accomplishment to beat it?
How about destroying a death knight that far outclasses you in regards to gear?
What about soloing a boss(Immerseus, perhaps) that should only be able to be downed by 10 or more players?
I, for one, don't find enjoyment in slaughtering low level players with no chance to fend for themselves.
I do kill the occassional PvP flagged horde, if they keep killing the low level players.
If they haven't touched anything, I'm not touching them.
But please, do explain to me what kind of mentality you have to force upon yourself to kill something that's hardly worth a boast.

If I see a low level person from the opposite faction I will /wave at them. I'll /wave a few times and then if they don't /wave back I will /tap. After one or two more /waves I will /sigh and gank them. Of course, if they wave back I will /cheer and be on my way.

But the only two difference between world PvP and BGs are:
1. World PvP is really a myth and the only thing close to it is when some bored high level corpse camps a lowbee.
2. World PvP is what ngtvnfnty says he doesn't like.

Infantile brains roll PvP servers coz they wanna gank and camp weak toons.
Eh, don't be too harsh criticizing them.
PVP quality in games is a matter of how many non-skill factors exist.
The best PVP games are the ones which purely measure the skill of the competitors.
World PVP is bad because it has lots of non-skill factors. Advantages are gained through progression (gear/level) and population (having more players.)
BG PVP is better, but not by leaps and bounds. Because you still have progression (usually just gear) as a significant factor.
So don't be too hard on the casual players who enjoy world PVP, because BG PVP isn't really much better. Basically in an RPG you're always going to have vertical progression (playtime makes you stronger) which creates weak PVP, and you can only get away from that by having no progression (at which point it isn't an RPG) or lateral progression (playtime unlocks new, but balanced playstyles) which isn't really an RPG either.

I find these posts amusing - waaa why do people kill others on a pvp server :P Ive always played on a PvP server but dont really enjoy PvP (rarely do bgs or attack alliance unless provoked) however it seems silly having opposite factions happily questing side by side :P
Yeah its a bit of a mean thing to do to go out of your way to camp some low level in a randomly picked location, but if you are in a low level area farming achievements, pets or items and some lowbie is there interfering with your farming do you stand back and take it or one hit them and carry on with what you are doing?
For the record I tend to leave low level players alone, even help them (after taking blade flurry off :P), if im skinning and they are looting everything so i can skin the corpse, if not I just move away from them and farm the other side (and if the mobs arent spawning fast enough I kill them :3)
