For a lot of guilds using Drupal (
www.drupal.org
) as their content management system of choice (smart guilds!) the Lootz module now links BEAUTIFULLY from WoWHead:
www.drupal.org/project/lootz
. Specfically this zip file:
http://drupal.org/node/430496#comment-1468430
. The updated version of Lootz is located within a zip in that comment.
You can see this in action here:

Hello
I am trying to get this all to work but i seem to be having a problem with the BBcode I think.
What I would like to do is get it so I can link items by letting users click a button that puts in my forum, then the user needs to copy and paist the FULL URL from wowhead not just the item number (becasue i think its a bit easier tbh)
they also have to put a = in before there paist to the end result would be...
item name
Now... in my forum if I was to manualy type in the above including the tags it does work, but I cant get it so I can get bbcode to do anything helpful
THanks in advance
It might depend on your forum software, which would have been beneficial to note down here. What software are you using?

Ok i dont take credit for this because i didnt made this
PHPBB3 tooltips mode
* ItemStats 1.5.5 (Core):
http://itemstats.free.fr/download.php?view.1
* Wowhead support:
http://forums.eqdkp.com/index.php?showtopic=9342&start=0&p=50321&#entry50321
1) Create a folder somewhere (temporary) and name it "root".
2) Open "ItemStats1.5_core.rar" and extract the "itemstats" folder into our "root" directory. Then close the archive.
3) Open "itemstats_wowhead_0_3_9.zip" and navigate in it, first open the "itemstats_wowhead" folder then extract "itemstats" to our "root" directory.
4) Say Yes to overwrite all and close the archive.
5) You should now have a "root/itemstats" folder, open "itemstats".
6) Open "config.php" in a text editor and configure it.
7) Fix the location and extension for the icon store, like this:
// The location and extension type for the Icon store.
define('ICON_STORE_LOCATION', '
http://www.wowhead.com/images/icons/medium/'
);
define('ICON_EXTENSION', '.jpg');
8) Save and close "config.php"
9) Go back to "root" and upload the whole "itemstats" to your phpbb3 RC5 installation.
10) Uploading is now done and you should have a folder looking like this on the server(see screenshot bellow)
http://www.cryocopy.com/freezer/2008/01/10/511/i21.tinypic.com/30wm4o4.jpg
Time for phpbb3 file editing is now here, so let's get busy:
(YOUR CODE MAYBE WONT BE ON EXACT LINES SO USE SEARCH BY CODE
)
A) Open "includes/bbcode.php"
B) Find (line ~13-16):
/**
* BBCode class
* @package phpBB3
*/
Add above:
Code: Select all
include_once('./itemstats/phpbb_itemstats.php');
C) Find (line ~65):
$message = str_replace(':' . $this->bbcode_uid, '', $message);
Add below:
$message = itemstats_parse($message);
D) Save and Exit
E) Open "viewtopic.php"
F) Find (line ~1257-1262):
// Highlight active words (primarily for search)
if ($highlight_match)
{
$message = preg_replace('#(?<.*)(?<!\w)(' . $highlight_match . ')(?\w|*(?:</s(?:cript|tyle))?>)#is', '<span class="posthilit">\1</span>', $message);
$row = preg_replace('#(?<.*)(?<!\w)(' . $highlight_match . ')(?\w|*(?:</s(?:cript|tyle))?>)#is', '<span class="posthilit">\1</span>', $row);
}
Add below:
$message = itemstats_parse($message);
G) Save and Exit
H) Open "styles/subsilver2/template/overall_header.html" (or your own theme)
I) Find (line ~92):
</head>
Add above:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="itemstats/templates/itemstats.css" type="text/css">
<!-->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="itemstats/templates/wowhead_ie6.css" type="text/css">
<!-->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="itemstats/templates/wowhead.css" type="text/css">
<script type="text/javascript" src="itemstats/overlib/overlib.js"><!-- overLIB © Erik Bosrup --></script>
J) Save and Exit

WORKING EXAMPLE:
http://www.loegpro.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=976
I tried this but it didn`t work. If I try to post or to open a thread I get:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':' in /www/htdocs/w00b852f/forum/phpBB3/includes/bbcode.php on line 18
if I comment it out, I can post but the -code doesn`t work and I get:

I would like to request a public function be added to the tooltip code so that we may retrieve info related to a tooltip.
Here's why I ask. I'm making a dps calculator which allows people to equip items in a character sheet style interface(kinda like
http://www.chardev.org/?c
). I wanted to use wowhead tooltips to display info on the items. When someone "equips" an item, I want the icon for the item to stick in the paper doll interface(again, just like chardev). Since the browser already must download the icon from wowhead when the tooltip is shown, I figure there's no reason for them to have to download the exact same icon a second time from my website, since it's already in thier browser cache.
Currently, the only way I can do this is by hacking the power.js code and adding a public function:
// i add this method into power.js
this.getProperty = function(property) {
return eval(property);
}
// ... then to get the icon name from within my own scripts
var icon = $WowheadPower.getProperty('_31').icon.toLowerCase();
// and now i can recreate the url to wowhead
var src = '
http://static.wowhead.com/images/icons/medium/'
+ icon + '.jpg';
This works, but since I must modify the power.js code to add the public function, I must host the new modified power.js on my server, and update it anytime you guys update your code as well. It would be so much easier if you just provided a public function interface in the first place :) Plus, I'm not sure if you guys would even be cool with me hosting this modified version of your script in the first place.
My other option would be to maintain my own itemid->icon_name refrerence, which is easy enough, but seems silly considering all the info is already in browser memory in a nice load on demand style. Halp! :)
It seems your script doesn't work anymore.
Could you please post example, how you print "src" variable into <img> tag?
And by the way, why there is still no support from wowhead for this issue?
Please add this feature to your script.

Any info from wowhead coders?

I know it might seem a bit stupid, but still, I gotta know it(sorry if it was already answered :p).
Since WLM + uses .js scripts and that the wowhead script is also that "kind" of code(Javascript ^-^ ), is there any possibilities to make a working Wowhead script for messenger (Or Pidgin, since it is possible to use "Provided by wowhead" on Adium, I believe it'd be usable on Pidgin since Adium is basically a Pidgin-like) ?

If you use Powered by Wowhead with Joomla and you have "search engine friendly links" (SEF) enabled, IE6 users won't see your page. Instead, they'll get "operation aborted". Here's the analysis and fix:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=126&t=321167&start=0
More on the IE6 bug that does this:
http://blog.dotsmart.net/2008/04/21/ie-6-bug-causes-jquery-globaleval-error/
This happens if the wowhead script tag follows a self-closing base tag in the head section of the page.
