A bit confused by the text above, but so does this mean that you have to have an active sub in order to get picked, or that you simply need an active sub to play? It looks like they are telling us that you have to throw down $15 to have a 'chance' at getting picked. I hope they mean you have a chance to get picked, and that if you do,
then
you have to pay $15 to play it.
Similar to past betas, you don't need an active sub in order to get picked. There's no sense to make paywall to provide a chance to participate in beta.
Well how do i know if I get picked? do i get and email or can i see it somewhere on the launcher? or do i just spam go in
Your best bet would be regular launcher checks. Usually emails come too late, like one-two days past the date when you get access to beta.

I've already heard that some people have already got in (influencers) of whom didn't even support the idea coming to fruition. How is that okay? A lot of us signed that petition back then and have been pushing for official vanilla servers for years, and likely won't be getting in the beta. Feels a bit twisted if you ask me.

I have heard 3 people who have been to to the Irvine conference say that you need an active subscription, and then others who say that you only need to be opted in. Really wish Blizzard would have been transparent with this detail.

Sorry, my previous comment was wrong. Yes, you need an active sub in order to get a chance to be picked to participate in Beta. Please see
this post
for more details.

Assuming that you do not get to keep your character and progression? Everything starts from scratch when classic is released?
