"The Fallen Chieftain" - First Part of the "Spirits Be With You" Quest Available

Horde players are starting to unlock "The Fallen Chieftain" questline, part of the
Spirits Be With You
achievement in Battle for Azeroth. The first part of this questline, which continues the story of Vol'jin, is available to players who complete
The Final Seal
and are
Revered
with Zandalari Empire. See

In this questline, we retrieve the ashes of Vol'jin, bringing them to Atal'Dazar on Talanji's orders that they may rest with the remains of honorable Zandalari. However, Bwonsamdi has other plans for Voljin, but is quite shocked to discover the urn is empty!
First, we need to help the Darkspear with the threat of Zalazane's spirit. We use the Glaive of Vol'jin to defeat Zalazane, who exclaims -
What? Vol'jin... you could not have grown so strong without becoming... a...
The implication here is that Vol'jin has become a loa--very convenient as the Zanadalari have just lost Rezan, loa of Kings, and Rastakhan's deal with Bwonsamdi has ominous foreshadowing with the dark music and lighting.
Talajni's later dialogue shows her respect for Vol'jin's choices to act with honor, standing against Zul and Garrosh. The final line, "It is a hard thing to do what your leaders will not," is a common sentiment shared by Horde player that are hesitant to follow Sylvanas but are unsure what to do.
Vol'jin made a deal wit' Bwonsamdi ta defeat da powerful Zalazane.
Aid us, Bwonsamdi! Help us regain our home! Return de Darkspear to de Isles, and hear your drums again! Drink your ritual offerings once more! Dis, as de Son of Sen'jin, I swear.

At de time, Zul's vision of a grand troll empire was very tempting to my father. I must commend your chieftain for seeing de bigger picture.
When it be clear dat our warchief, Garrosh, be unwillin' ta lead wit' honor, Vol'jin led da rebellion ta depose da warmonger.
It is a hard thing to do what your leaders will not.
When we take Vol'jins ashes to Bwonsamdi, things get interesting in

:
Ya not leaving that here.
Ol' Vol'jin not be dancin' in my house. I not be seein' his spirit for a long time.
Its absence has broken de bonds dat held Zalazane in my control.
So... I want you to lift dat heavy urn, and bring it to my necropolis.
Vol'jin and I gonna have a face to face on my ground.
However...there is no face to face. Vol'jin's spirit has escaped!
Ay, Vol'jin? Come on outta dat urn. Wait... wait, wait... no! Where be da spirit?! Where be Vol'jin?
No! No! Impossible. Da boss ain't gonna like dis. Ol' Bwonsamdi not been losin' a spirit in... oh, dis be bad.
Two things stand out:
Who is Bwonsamdi's boss? Previously we thought he just did what he wanted.
Why can't Bwonsamdi track Vol'jin? Has he become too powerful?
Lots of players were surprised that Vol'jin picked Sylvanas as his successor--but if the spirits of Bwonsamdi (or his mystery boss) were urging him to pick Sylvanas, the story falls more into place. This quest series takes care to show how Vol'jin entered into a deal with Bwonsamdi many years ago, so the loa could have influenced Vol'jin on his deathbed.
Who do you think Bwonsamdi's boss is? He doesn't like G'huun for stealing the dead, so by that logic, he'd also be opposed to the Old Gods. Perhaps he could be serving the Lich King, who also views the Old Gods as enemies. Keep in mind Sylvanas has also hinted that her actions are for a larger purpose, one for a force greater than the Alliance or Horde.
We don't know what's in store for the second half of the achievement, but this cinematic is likely related:

Ya set in motion what be needed ta save ya people. Now, more than ever, dey be callin' for a leader dey can love and trust.
Show dem da blade. Become da symbol dey need.
Talanji: Behold de blood of G'huun. By his will were borne de deaths of Shadra, Hi'reek, Torga, and ...and Rezan.
Talanji: By his will were borne de deaths of so many of our brothers and sisters.
Talanji: Let dis glaive be displayed as a reminder dat no matter how far we fall, no matter how much we lose, we are Zandalari! We adapt, we find a way to survive!
Talanji: If it were not for dis hero of de Horde, our losses would have been far worse. Dis proves, more than ever, dat it is time for us to adapt, to become part of de world again.
Talanji: Zandalar forever!

Somehow I knew she would do it against either the old gods or void. They took the easy way out, I think.

I personally think she'll want to kill everyone and turn them into undead. In A Good War, she says that forces beyond the Alliance, Horde, or Elune would care about, and object to her real purpose. Maybe later on her actions would have the inadvertent effect of helping a war against a sinister force, but I think she's furthering her own agenda now, not fighting a larger evil. Bwonsamdi's boss is probably not the Lich King. First, he predates his very existence by a long shot. Second, he hates necromancers more than anything, and the lich king is the apotheosis of a necromancer.
I'm thinking his boss is probably... Death. I mean, think about it, every possible cosmic power in Wow has a personification. The Light has the Naaru (arguably, Elune too), the Void has the old gods and the Void Lords, Arcane has the Titans, Nature has the wild gods (and I guess the Overgrowth in Draenor). Death doesn't have anything yet. And I'm guessing that's who Sylvanas is secretly working for. As well as good ol' LK.

Rewatching the Vol'jin cinematic made me realize he never promoted her warchief for her leadership capacity... What he saw probably didn't happened yet.
Meh, maybe Sylvanas hide some good mojo we're unaware of ?

Exactly, Undead have been shown to be able to resist the mind powers of the Old Gods. Perphaps I’m wrong, but the whispers to Alleria sounded really triggered. Maybe they tried manipulating Alleria to get rid of a threat before it became stronger against them.

I believe that Bwonsamdi's boss may be the lesser-known death loa, Mueh'zala.
Odyn, while less likely, is still an option, seeing as how the Val'kyr -who are ruled over by Eyir, who listens to Odyn in turn- have a connection to the Shadowlands.

Lets take it further! Maybe its an unknown entity who dwells in the Shadowlands. Maybe we’ll be traveling there to fight it. Who knows if the areas there vary, so far we’ve seen Helheim but I don’t remember if it was located in the Shadowlands. Xal’atath also mentions something along the lines of “So close to the truth, yet still so far.” When going there I believe.

.The highlighted assertion is unsupported. Recent revelations make it clear that G'huun is different from the actual Old Gods. Bwonsamdi may be serving one of them and disdainful of the noveau upstart in Ul'dir.

uh, is it at all possible that that "boss" line is spoken by Bwonsamdi's priest, Hanzabu, and not by Bwonsamdi himself? That would make more sense to me.
